Last year for hill Holder? Compatibilities?

Featured Replies

I know that Subaru went to electronic hill holders instead of mechanical a while back but don't know exactly when. My brother in laws '02 outback and '08 impreza both are electronic hill holder set ups. Sorry for the vague reply.

cars101.com lists '96 as the last year with a mechanical hill holder, but it doesn't say anything about the electronic.

my '96 OBW has it, or had it until I ripped out the cable...

my 87 was different than my 82 only in mounting and cable direction but swapped perfectly.

the one on my dad's '94 legacy looks identical to the EA82 ones I've worked with.

I know the EJ ones were only available on cars with cable clutches until they redesigned (electric setup) in ~2000
