December 18, 200817 yr I want to get a decent set of plug wires for my Brat but I'm not sure what to get. I have the SPFI conversion and also have 3-4" of lift. The ones I have are working ok but I don't know what they were actually bought for. And the coil wire is a little short do to the lift. So what would I be looking for....What brand and what model car do I order them for? Thanks!
December 18, 200817 yr Author dont they make a cut to fit set? I dunno do they? And if so what brand are they?? I don't want a cheazy set meant for an american car.
December 18, 200817 yr if you're looking for high quality wires - go with Magnecor, they are awesome. i put them in every vehicle i own and have put 150,000 miles on one set before. you might even be able to ask about checking the length of the coil wire or supplying you with a longer one. or take your wires to Subaru and compare the lengths, particularly the one for the coil. can you just move the ignition coil, make a little bracket adapter or something?

Yeah I could probably move it a little. That would help. So magnecor.... I didn't know they made them for old school cars.
December 18, 200817 yr I have made several sets out of the cut to size v8 kit from msd. They are 8.5mm and so far they have been terrific. If you want me to make you a set just let me know.

December 18, 200817 yr Author The NGK wire sets are more than sufficient for a stock ignition. GD Yeah that's what I have but like I said because of my setup I don't know what to order them for.
December 18, 200817 yr An EA82 set will work fine. The lengths should be largely the same. As for your coil wire - I sugest you relocate the coil. I put the SPFI coil on the drivers side where it's located on the EA82's as that allows you to use the EA82 coil wire. GD

Thanks!
December 18, 200817 yr +1 for making your own. Go with MSD Check out this link. Remember that the price is for a v-8 so you basically get 2 sets. Also make sure that you order the correct boots http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=MSD%2D31189&N=700+4294891681+4294864973+115&autoview=sku
December 18, 200817 yr i'm with GD and would go with the NGK sets unless you're really sure you'll use them for 100,000 - 200,000 miles like i do, which is why i go with Magnecor, but most people don't put that many miles on a set probably.
December 18, 200817 yr fwiw, i slotted the lower bolt hole of the EA82 coil bracket and was able to mount it where the original coil was located so it would be close enough that i could use my regular EA81 wire set. i don't know if that helps since your brat's lifted, though.
