February 25, 200917 yr So I've been told in the past that to fit EA82 control arms on my EA81, I would have to relocate the inboard lower control arm mounts. Can anyone tell me, by looking at the pictures below, in what direction and how far I would have to move the mount to fit EA82 lower control arms to my EA81? I don't really see where or how the mount could be moved except inwards.
February 25, 200917 yr jbbvw did this on his EA81 and did not have to move the control arm mounts. I would ask him. He explained a lot of it to me.
February 26, 200917 yr If I were doing it I would likely just shorten the control arms and also reinforce them at the same time. Kill two birds that way and don't have to mess with the x-member. Just cut out a slice in the straightest section - make it 1/8" more than what you need to remove. Then weld the two peices back together with a section of 1/8" flat bar inbetween to reinforce. Then fully box the ends for strength. GD
February 26, 200917 yr MilesFox has done this. Do believe he said you cut the formed piece out from the inner area of the X-member, then reweld it to the outside on the rear of the x-member.
