Alot of smoke on passenger side of engine bay?

Featured Replies

Hey guys. I thought it was my valve covers leaking, but it doesn't seem like it. The motor oil is still full and the oil is coming from much lower. Anything else that usually leaks and causes a bit of smoke on the passenger side?

Is your pass side cv boot broken? That would spray grease on the cat and make it smoke

Hmm, doesn't look to be broken the boot. Going to recheck maybe there is a fine leak from the boot.

It's a EJ22T turbo motor.

Looks like it is the valve covers still.

How many miles. It may just be time to reseal the engine. If its the valve covers replace them and the spark plug grommits with parts from subaru. the aftermarket parts dont hold up.

And if oil is on your wires, change those too.

I don't think there would be spark plug grommets. The valve covers do not have spark plugs in them. The car has 190,000km which is like low 100k miles. Looks like I need to repair a leak on my power steering pump, and my valve covers. Seal hit with the gromets for the bolts is $30 for both sides woot! I got a rebuild kit for the power steering pump as well has all the seals.

power steering seal (at the rack hose) goes bad at 125k on all my subies.

most other seals too

i will say this: if it aint leaking dont mess with the seal, you will just cause a leak

if its leaking, better fix the thing soon and leave all other alone

my 2 cents
