May 13, 200916 yr The both stopped working at the same time on my 98 GT wagon. Both lights come on when the button is pressed but neither do anything. Could the problems be related? Are the cruise control and rear defroster on the same fuse?
May 14, 200916 yr Are you sure the rear defrost is not getting power? Cruise check the break pedal and/or clutch switch. They are the most common reasons. nipper
May 14, 200916 yr The cruise controls stopped working on my son's 99 Outback. Light came on and the relay(s) clicked, but it didn't actually work. He found a split vacuum hose. There is a hose and pipe that runs from the cruise control vacuum motor. He found the split hose where it connects to a thingy (not sure what it is) on the passenger side. He cut the hose an inch shorter and re-connected, and now all is well.
May 14, 200916 yr Whenever problems like this occur it is wise to check the fuses under the hood and dash first for a problem. Since they both went out at the same time it is a very good possibility that a fuse has blown.
