got a handle at ace to replace my canopy handle but had to customize it to fit which took awhile zzz but got it done had to drill two holes, cut the two things that hold the screws in, and do a lot of grinding.(one on the left is the one that came off my canopy, the one on the right is off a 79 and the replacement from ace fits right on the first gens besides you need to cut the two things down and drill two small holes, one in middle is the one from ace.)
Posted Image
dont drill the wholes all the way through if u have the 1st gen canopy.
Posted Image
got it installed :headbang:
Posted Image
the inside piece is a little long but im waiting to cut until i get the handle on the inside.
Posted Image
got a bumper at the junkyard (the u-pull-it in boring oregon) for $30 bucks and it has a tow hitch and 4 d-rings:cool:
Posted Image
Posted Image
had to make my own trim piece for the side from a door because i couldn't find one.
Posted Image
still hunting for tail light for drivers side.
Posted Image
the canopy amazed me because it was made in battleground washington
Posted Image
also i got my hood emblem on today.

Looking good !!

Didn't notice the cat hair until you said something about it. Haven't had a cat in the house in 4 years, still cleaning it up. Stuff gets every where.....

For the glovebox door. Thinking I would put 2 more rivets along the center of the bottom row, just to even it out.
If you really can't find another Tan one, I have a few extras here.

PITA work to fix the tailgate rust, but have been assured that it can be done. Have 2 spare ones, both need rust repair along the bottom. Someday I'll get around to it, other things to fix 1st.....

Been somewhat hording parts here myself. EA81 stuff is hard to come by in this area. EA82 isn't much easier either.

hopefully got another brat on the way:headbang:
a guy called my dad and asked if we wanted another one of course he said yes:Dand we think its a 2nd gen so i might get tail lights:headbang:, trim pieces i need:D, and hopefully tailgate:headbang:not sure how good its going to be the guy said its been sitting in his barn in gaston oregon 9 years since it flooded in tilomook oregon and flooded the truck:( hopefully it will be not that rusty:-\or no rust:) so i can get the parts i need and get running and resell or use as parts car. but all this depends on what gen, shape, and price of this brat:popcorn:

thinking about using this winch bumper off a 78 my dad got last summer for $100:D and put over my current bumper but have to do some measuring and double checking to see if it will fit, i know i will need to cut four rectangle holes for it to fit through the plastic bumper but i want to make sure that it will fit good before i do it, maybe if it fits good ill make four brackets for it to fit nice:headbang:and put my winch and kc lights on :headbang::headbang::headbang:

good work man! i went through a lot of this restoring my 1973 vega gt when i was 15, good to see someone of your generation that is still willing to put time and effort into stuff like this. brat is looking awesome! although...i would have kept the bar rather than the cap, but to each his own ;) and i absolutely LOVE the peugeot wheels, what are they from?

if you ever want to sell the bar, i have a couple of worthy candidates... :) getting an ecm from ivan's imports next week to get the 83 turbo running again, when it does, i'll start tearing down the 84 to prep it to receive the 83 drivetrain. at which point, i may have an even crazier drivetrain to put in the 83 shell... muwhahahahahaha!!!

i promise i'll get some pics, camera has died on my phone, so i'll snag the shop camera one day and get some shots of the pair.

fastwagn i believe they came of a peugeot 504 or 505 sedan but they can come off the wagon these are the 14in rims but u can get 15's off them too, im running 195/75/14's on them and they rub the very bottom of the fender on sharp turns which can be solved by a adjustment to something in the suspension which will raze it about another inch the peugeot wheels with the tires im running give it a 3inch lift:headbang:the 15in wheels require a lift kit though:rolleyes:
