  1. when I had my WRX at the track the first time, I had an instructor off and on. They were trying to get people to not treat the accelerator like a switch - to roll-on and roll-off appropriately. Once, my instructor praised me "good throttle roll-on!" I didn't tell him I was flooring it just before the apex and he was feeling the turbo spool on the exit!

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the forums Jono, under site information. There's a thread in there explaining the reason...
  4. You aren't reading a code. Those six short flashes indicate the processor ID. More information about codes can be found here:
  5. Test the CTS. Then test the injector if the CTS is good.
  6. Okay, that's good to know about the ECU flashes. I was worried that I had wired something up really wrong. I thought about fuel pump and fuel filter, but I wasn't sure if that could cause the off/on nature of the problem. I'll swap in a new filter anyway, they're cheap enough and it couldn't hurt. I guess I'm kind of dancing around the fuel pump because it's a nice Walbro inline pump and I don't want it to be going bad, lol. But if the filter doesn't fix it I'll get a fuel pressure gauge and see what kind of pressures I'm getting. Thanks for the ideas.
  7. The stock gauges are only roughly accurate while driving, if they are working. Idle, they will look like zero. For real checking, get a mechanical gauge. If it's reading very low while driving on the highway, it could be the sender or the gauge. Or some kind of real problem....
  8. I replaced the fuel pump, inlet screen, and filter and that appears to have been what the problem was. Thanks very much, everybody. Happy Trails!
