  1. Problem could be the hill-holder if so equipped.
  2. I have found the hose going from the radiator to the overflow tank can get loose at the connection to the radiator and not suck out of the tank. Simple fix is to put a ty wrap on it. It may not be you issue but would be an easy thing to try.
  3. That needs clarified because Tribeca's never came with a manual. If it is a manual then the diff ratios are probably wrong. I'm guessing they meant something with the 4WD components - the old 4EAT's were called clutches and clutch baskets so I'm just assuming that terminology is being used here? I highly doubt someone converted a tribeca with all the integrated CANBUS bits.
  4. nah don't guess or throw issues at it, that would be risky with your cash. 1. is the check engine light on? 2. does the transmission light ever come on? 3. any lights on the dash? 4. have you checked the fluid level? 5. do all the tires match in size and rough tread depth levels? 6. if you drive in a dry parking lot with the steering wheel turned all the way right or left does it drive funny then?
  5. The advice is - DO NOT run a manual boost control on a Subaru. You can't increase the boost by doing this. The computer will shut off your fuel and throw a P0244 wastegate performance code. Your on a path of destruction here - without proper timing and fuel control you may get a little higher boost but you will squirt the rod bearings right out of that poor old abused 2 liter. Get a tactrix cable and tune the car properly. Manual Boost Controllers are for small block chevys and DSM's. Subaru's don't work this way. GD
  6. 1 point
Not on 25D's. They all use the flat-bottom 4.5 quart pan. Buy a new dipstick from Subaru they are like $11. Use the VIN to get the right one. OR buy an oil pan and dipstick as a matched set for a 2006 STI. You will get more capacity and better baffling. Yes the tubes are all the same length. GD
