  1. The first round of replacements was "interim". They replaced the airbags with the same defective Takata units (just newer) that were being removed. The Takata bags were considered more dangerous the longer they were in service and the higher the humidity of the environment they were exposed to. This second round is to replace them with permanent replacements rather than the defective original units. GD

  2. same deal. they're basically the same transmission with different final drive and some tweaking for VDC. a couple times i've towed them in neutral with the engine running to circulate ATF. not ideal or repeatable but might work in some situations.

  3. Rear diff plug looks to be normal. If there were chunks of metal instead of fine particles, then I’d be concerned! Cheers Bennie

  4. The fuse box is right there. No need to splice wires, you can use tap fuses to get power for that area. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&tbm=isch&q=tap+fuse

  5. The 83 4wd one is the one to look at. .https://www.autozone.com/repairguides/Subaru-ff-1-1300-1400-1600-1800-Brat-1970-1984-Repair-Guide/Vacuum-Diagrams/Vacuum-Diagrams/_/P-0900c15280065a54

  6. Sounds like dirt in the primary side emulsion tube. The holes are very small.

  7. They were a marketing tool for the BRAT when it was launched. Could win one in a raffle and eventually I think you could buy them.

  8. Time for the good stuff to happen. The engine bays looking good. Cross member installed, Suspension installed. The front nearly ready for fuel cell, brake lines, steering lines and still have to put tower to rail brace in. The front is all mocked up and braces for grill and bumper done. Has a wrx front bumper installed and the brumby grill, still with to front guards to be flared to fit rims and tyres it will line up fine. I no the gap looks bad between the guard and bumper but trust me, when we finish it will look fine. Radiator mounted and ready for piping up. And for the first look at the rear flared guard. Still some work to do. Not to sure what to do at the front lower section of the guard, but a spoob load or cardboard and tape will come up with something. Its taking a long time to get to this stage but now enjoying making and fitting stuff.
