    Looks like the power transistor on the heat sink (another NEC D1590?) shorted out.Could be an easy fix C401 looks overheated too. I would make sure the injector harness is not shorted to ground before plugging in another ECU.
  2. I feel it's worth checking for a slight timing belt slip - bring the marks on the pulleys around to belt install position, and do a tooth count. You can find tooth counts on line for different Subaru engines.
  3. Well, finally some progress. We redid and checked the ignition timing like 4 times. This final time we timed it with the green jump connector hooked up and thus the ECU in test mode. The timing was probably 20 degrees off, so we fixed it and it runs great now. The tach and fuel gauge (Digi dash) still aren't accurate, but otherwise it works. We'll see how it goes from here. Thanks to all of you for your help and suggestions thus far.
