  1. How are you all? I am the latest addition to this community and below is a photo of my ride.

  2. I think you jumped to a possibly-unwarranted conclusion there. I didn't read it as either sarcasm or arrogance. Could just as easily have been a sincere thank-you he felt he neglected in his first post. So I'd suggest lightening up a bit and giving a new member the benefit of the doubt.

  3. Most aftermarket hoses are "cut to fit" as they fit multiple applications. I just put a Gates lower on our '04 H6 and had to cut some off both ends, but then it fit great.

  4. In my '86 EA82 GL DualRange Wagon, the cups that you get from the drive-throughs fit wonderfully between the Driver's seat and the E-brake. The transfer-case lever keeps the cup from tilting forward, and the center console/armrest from going backwards. Depending how tall of an order you get (cup) I just reach past the cup for the trans-shifter. Not like it requires any real effort to shift, its like working a Toy. Those paper-multi-cup-holders also work well, the ones they give you are the drive-thru, as long as you keep your turns under a G.

  5. Now. It’s 105 *months* or 105,000 miles. You’re due based on time no matter what. Also since it was changed once already we can guess 1 of 2, or both, of these are true: 1. it doesn’t have a Subaru or AISIN belt. 2. They didn’t also change the lower cogged idler. That current belt and pulley are trash. Those always bend 75% of the valves unless you’re real lucky Get a Subaru belt and Subaru lower clogged pulley - it’s only like $30 from subaru and as likely to fail as an old belt. You can Google pictures of the carnage, people have it happen all the time. I’ve seen it. And check the tensioner for leakage at the hydraulic seal $125 or so from Subaru if it’s soaking wet with pooled up oil on the tensioner lip where the seal seats. If it’s dry or very lightly coated and compressed properly it’s fine to reuse. If the car is decent and worth another 100k miles I’d get a complete AISIN kit with all new pulleys and water pump if the car is rust free and good condition. But the previous belt and one pulley for Subaru that I mentioned takes care of the most likely to fail items and offers great value for certain situations .

  6. The EA series cars in my opinion are not safe enough to drive as a daily anymore with the type of traffic on the road these days. I never used to think about it until I got rear ended recently in my 88 DL Wagon at a stop by a guy doing about 40 mph. It shoved the rear storage area up to the back tires and bent the shape of the whole car, none of the doors opened afterword. The drivers seat broke and I flew up and passed out when my head slammed in to the roof. I woke up 2 lanes over and down a side street. Driving a 4WD Chevrolet Blazer until I figure out what to build next.
