  1. I put stock 2002 WRX wheels and tires on my 95 Legacy no problem. Moved them over to a 98 Legacy Wagon a few years later.

  3. Once upon a time you could find a kit for that throttle shaft. Have to talk with mechanics from the 80’s who were working on these cars. Not sure but I’m guessing this was a Hitachi issued retro type kit and not something on the market. I’ve never seen the actual kit so likely it was to dealers only. With today’s technology I’m sure you can be creative and make your own solution. Going forward we are going to see more and more of these situations. I’m not totally opposed to the Weber but I have a hard time throwing in the towel in something that worked well enough which could likely be repaired. Maybe you’re that same type ? Good luck. Please report back.

  4. Slammo's front strut bodies. Got these welded along with a pair for my Impreza. Dropped them off at ID grind today. Front and back of the shirts we had made.

  5. Trying to fix an oil leak on my 99 near/under the oil cooler. Tried putting JB weld on the outside and running the shop vac hooked up to an old oil filter with a hole cut in it. Unfortunately that didn't seemed to work, in the process of getting it all off and cleaned up and starting over now. Polyurethane for padding the engine to the skidplate, definitely needed for finishing the Vegas to Reno. Funny to me that it's permanently bent now. Finally got our tires back from Baja Pits, this is the one that we had to replace at mile 6 in the Vegas to Reno. This was the hatch gap when I first got the red Impreza home. Taking the taillights off, always surprises me how much the sealant stretches. We did push and pull the bumper and hatch opening back to about where it should be. Worst part of the red Impreza. B cleaned it up and we got the door aligned better but I still plan on replacing it.

  6. the computer primarily uses feedback from the MAP/MAF sensor and the front O2 sensor to adjust fuel:air so, yeah, a bad or disconnected one of these could easily lead to a failure of a cat conv or possibly even a fire. Older cars often have a lot of grease and oil underneath and cats can get cherry red under bad conditions.

  7. I wouldn't rule-out an issue with the harness going from the body to the hatch. shorting out or ???

  8. buy a PCV valve. That releases crank case pressures. You should not be springing that many leaks back to back. It sounds like the high pressure just keeps finding the easiest path out. buy a new Subaru PCV valve and install. You can do that it’s easy. Part number posted above in one of my previous replies. good luck let me know how it goes.

  10. Unfortunately no, @TIMBERTIGER, I never got around to fixing this issue... This '82 Brat is my "work" Brat. It will occasionally haul stuff to the dump, load firewood around, etc... the coolest side-by-side atv / power wheelbarrow one could ask for. I found it in pretty sorry condition in the woods of South Puget Sound. It was missing the carburetor and had been sitting many years collecting moss. Flushed the fuel system and installed a new Weber, and she was in business. All I have had to replace since then has been a clutch cable. I've never had to touch the braking system even... Following that trend of seat-of-the-pants driving excitement; I've been purposely not fixing anything that wasn't keeping the Brat from driving. Subarus really are inexpensive and meant to stay that way. Since the condition of this Brat isn't stellar, I have better condition Brats, and I also wasn't sure if this Brat would turn into a parts car; that also postponed the fixing of the issue. However I still need to put the Tailgate on this Brat. Maybe I'll try and sort this issue at the same time. Heck maybe I'll restore the whole Brat the way prices are going...
