1. thats not a starsky + hutch thats A-TEAM man! Murdock is my hero:headbang:
2. well i ultimately decided to just replace the latch/pin mechanism instead of a hole new fuel door. sadly i could not find a door with a small enough opening device that i could recess in to the fuel door area. if i ever find one small enough i might just consider doing it anyways.
3. in a valley girl voice "WHAT-EVER!"
4. the guard is metal and his rack is actually one of those bumper hitch racks mounted to a after market roof rack. simple but ingenious! i tell ya, seeing that welded rear diff in action will make a believer out of you!
5. so me and Ben set out for Tahuya state park and took on the south loop. perfect day for a trail ride and hardly anyone out there ( well it was a weekday). hit some mild obstacles followed by "WHAT THE F@#$"!!! i learned a great deal and had a awesome time... and by the way, Ben's machine is a monster! check out the pics of his maroon wagon showing "its stuff"! to check out the vids and picks follow the link. if that ain't screen saver material, i don't know what is! http://www.putfile.com/mastertwig
6. Yes i see what your getting at. I think the straight hole withe the bump would be the easiest way. today I'm swinging by home depot to look for locks. i will let you know how it turns out.
7. good idea! that would be simple. sorta like a lock box key set up. i might do that if i cant find some after-market application that will work. thanks for the help!
8. I have a problem on my 86 gl (go figure) . My pin that holds back the fuel door was snapped off by the previous owner and I was thinking about taking the door off all together and putting on one of those aftermarket lock/tap to open doors like you see on some trucks. i found a few on e-bay, napa-online and such but they are all for specific trucks like dodge or hummer. Has any one done this, and if so where did you get the new fuel door?
9. this looks like a candidate for USRM!
10. Hate to hijack but I have a similar problem on my 86 gl. My pin that holds back the fuel door was snapped off by the previous owner and I was thinking about taking the door off all together and putting on one of those aftermarket lock/tap to open doors like you see on some trucks. Has any one done this, and if so where did you get the new fuel door?

15. OK pic time! they look darn good, i think! fresh paint some fender trimming and 10.5 in at the rear diff. i know what your thinking...ges bud get a lift already! ...well hopefully soon. got the rims and tires for free so had to put them on. "] "] "] "]
16. DAMN! looks like a good time! Ill spare ya the flack... re-locate the front part of your rack to sit close to the rear one so that the tire rests on both and strap the tire down hard!!

I show these vids to all my friends who are disbelievers! They all end up looking like this:slobber: HA! They never look at a Subaru the same way again!
18. I used a disk that was already pulled off a sub (BIG thanks to Lance and Ben and tin soldier). worked very well. removed 2 opposing lugs and slid it on to the rim. you might want to see if some one around you has a drum/disk already removed. or head out to the local yard and get your self a rear disk break upgrade(if you do not have the turbo)and use your old drum.well worth the time. no calculating. just bolt on the 2 lugs fill the hole with a marker, center punch, remove drum, drill pilot hole, drill hole, bevel edge and wha la! i hope to have picks soon.
19. thanks for the advice! time to get drillin' hope to have pics soon.
20. I have a set of rims from a d-50 and want to re drill them...so...I know that there is allot of debate about this, but what I'm interested in is what advice people that have done this would give. for example what size and type drill bit, press or hand etc. any help would be great!
21. passed by the bank in silverdale the other day and spotted a lifted subie, lite blue with a gray hood+gnarly hood scoop. wanted to say hi and do have any trails in Kitsap you would suggest? hoping to learn of more local trails. send me a pm.

24. i used a canon digital camcorder..optura i think. it was fair to work with and having the clips in dig made it easer.
25. last one i will be able to make until i head out to a new trail. the trail you are about to see has been closed:banghead: . hope to find a new trail soon. let me know if you Kitsap guys have any trails near by. http://media.putfile.com/mynameiseltoro
