that is whats known as, custom in a can! i used a standard can of black spray paint and masked away! sure breaks up that nasty band-aid color. the advice i would give is clean it before you paint. BTW its wal mart .96 per can

you got that right! by the way (being that you are into video and all) what would you say is the best digital video camera on the market? the one we used was a canon and was OK. any suggestions. http://s59.photobucket.com/albums/g296/mastertwig/?action=view¤t=MVI_0221.flv

Smoking barell?! carb question
El Toro replied to El Toro's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It looks as though I fixed the problem! In case this ever gets searched it was the vacuum advance. it was sticky some times and some times not. good old WD-40 did the trick! thats the 5th thing it has fixed on my wagon! i will never leave home without it:banana: -

the link for the wal-mart liberators is odd but type in 225/70/14 and they come up. talked to them today and was quoted $217 OTD this included the road hazard warranty. very um.....cost effective. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4269022&year=&make=&model=&vehicle_path=false&tire_spec_selected=&tire_width=225&tire_ratio=70&tire_diameter=14&tire_type=&tire_load_index=&tire_load_range=&tire_speed_rating=&tire_equivalent_load_index=&tire_size=

don't know if any one is still looking at this thread but i have a Webber question. in the thread there is a list of donor vehicles that have carbs that will work on a subie, one is the dodge D50 pickup. i scored the carb from one of these and i can not find a weber badge on it anywhere. i did find the name MIKUNI corp. is this still a carb i can use? and if so where can i locate a adapter plate. Smoking barell?! carb question
El Toro replied to El Toro's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
so i think this might be a fuel problem but not sure i did do a fuel filter change a few months ago but i don't think that caused the problem. any help would be appreciated:confused: -

El Toro replied to 1bignose's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
make sure your wheels are straight and clutch in when going forward then try to shift it in to 2wd -
yes a smoking barrel! well i don't know to much about carbs, if i ever had a problem before i just sold the car:horse: ( this is the first car i have actually been really excited about in my life:headbang: )....blah, blah....on to the problem:rolleyes: . my 1986 EA82 stock carb is acting up ( I think ) at first the car started to bog down, sputter, and smell like gas, when i went up a hill, but not all the time. so i changed plugs, cap, rotor, wires, air filter, and a fresh oil change. runs great for months! then on a wet night on the way home from work it did it again. so in frustration i popped off the air filter (because i smelt gas) and found in the forward barrel filled with what looked like smoke! on further inspection it actually looked more like a fog plus it did not smell like smoke. the forward barrel ( the one by the radiator) is really dirty looking and the fog obviously was not letting that barrel get air. so is it Webber time and junk the carb rebuild the carb, or is this the sign of something more catastrophic ie.....head gasket, lifters, oil pump? and yes i did a search but had a hard time finding info relative to my situation. and the Chilton is no help so i have come to the masters for advice. I'm sure someone has had this problem before and i hope that knowledge will take me to the next subie level! thanks in advance for your help!
