  1. What else will I need?
  2. Do the axle splines match up ?
  3. Will 5-spd d/r trans from a 4wd carbed 86 GL work for a 89 AWD turbo model?
  4. Will the the shifter, shifting linkages, clutch pedal, and clutch cable out of a FWD nonturbo wagon work in a AWD turbo wagon?

I was thinking more of a heavy duty bumper. Something I could mount reverse lights on and mount a spare tire on. And maybe a trailer hitch.

Has anyone ever put something like a brushguard on the rear of their suby.
  7. Thanks for the help. Mine is a four speed so I guess they will work.
  8. the 5spd is single range. with 3.9 gearing the auto has 3.7 gearing. Would the axles still be the same?
  9. Are the axles for an automatic GL-10 AWD turbo Wagon the same as the axles for a manual GL-10 AWD turbo Wagon of the same year?
  10. You said something about a torque converter so I guess it is automatic. The noise is probably your flex plate(connects the torque converter to the crankshaft). My car was making the same noise. When it breaks you will know it.
  11. I have the car on the ground now, with JACK STANDS holding the front up. Now I just have to finish fixing it. Not sure what all of the damage is from the fall, it got dark.
  12. Yea I learned a lesson, to keep my car off of crap i make myself. The front end is not as bad as it looks in the pic. I can fix it easy. Collision repair is the kind of work I am going into.
  13. There is a car like mine at a pull-a-part junkyard. They let you go in and get the parts your self.
  14. The body didn't get damaged any except the front end. Hell yea i am gunna fix it. I can get a manual trans for $43. Is $96 a good price for a locking diff. with 3.9 gear ratio?
  15. I wasn't under it. I had it up on four blocks, and I just put new cv boots on the rear axles. I put the diff and axles in. I put the wheels on and was jacking it up to take the rear blocks out and it fell over. The front end, trans, and one of the axles caught it. They are all probably messed up.

  17. The seal for the input shaft in my 4-spd auto went out. I went up to Advance Auto to see if they had one. They said they could not get it, that I could only get it from the dealer. Then he said something about an input shaft bearing. My guestion is do I need to get a bearing and seal to put the shaft back in because I thought it just had a seal. Dose anyone have a diagram of the shafts and torque converter? I'm not sure that I need the input shaft seal or another one. By the way the how are the Auto Zones around ya'll? The people who work in the one near me know less about cars than me.
  18. Those thhings are a pain in the rump roast to replace. It took me like a hour and a half to do. It was the first one I have ever done.
  19. That what i have then. I think it had almost every option. But no cup holders.
  20. Are all of the GL-10's touring wagons? And What is a touring wagon?
  21. What year did Subaru stop making GL's and GL-10's?
  22. Didn;t get to work on my car at all today. Had to help my dad do some stuff. Now i have to wait until Saturday to do it.
  23. I don't know what kind of a person would want to make a AWD subaru into a RWD. That just takes the fun out of it.
