What is this thing? Early EA82 MPFI "Leone"
Durania replied to GeneralDisorder's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
is it too old to run a good deep carfax report? Maybe that would help some. -
Safe for one more year.
Durania replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
That's why I thank God everyday that Tennessee doesn't require emmissions tests. If they did the number of cars on the road would drop by %40, that I am convinced of. -
I ....um....killed it (90 loyale spfi 5sp4wd)
Durania replied to 2alaskasubee's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Seriously sounds like alternator, jump the car off to where it will start and then pull the positive terminal off the battery, if it dies, its your alternator. -
New gauge install with pics and questions.

Simpsons Did It! (Subaru on TV)
Durania replied to MSSLGECKO's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Apparently ole Matt Groening is a Subaru fan, Ive seen more mention of Subarus on The Simpons than any other show. -
Thats how a buddy of mine was from high school. She never could get her mind around why you need anit-freeze/water in the radiator. Someone told me they get kinda warm under the hood? Whodathunkit??

Rats eating wiring, Rats like SUBARUs
Durania replied to Scott in Bellingham's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thats what happened to my legacy back in the fall. Damn rats chewed through the fuel pump wiring. Car would crank but not start. Three little wires is all it was -
new pics for the new car *dial-up beware*

The frame on my EA81 hatch is the AEM one that came with the intake for my 2wd Tacoma; it says "Engineered to Outperform". It's amusing cause on a weekly basis someone rolls up and asks to "hear the intake". -
1984 Brat Won't Start (non-turbo) Help?
Durania replied to rpape's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
That's how it is in the back of my hatch. Got a full ratchet set, jumper cables, 2 flashlights and a chilton's subaru manual in there. Right next to my 2x4 for a hatch-prop. -
That was my reaction to it when I first seen it on ebay last night. I can't wait to see some bad@ss on here put the blue STi seats into a wagon. You'r talking slick.

How would you build the perfect sleeper?
Durania replied to Jack in Norfolk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Don't load one down with stickers that say "AP Products" or something that just screams rice. Make it look subliminal and stock as possible, just put good tires on it and have some fun. -
1984 Brat Won't Start (non-turbo) Help?
Durania replied to rpape's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I had a similar problem like that a few months ago in my 84 Hatch. I turned it over and never got it to start, then I replaced the coil, no good. Turns out the wire that runs from the coil to the distributor went bad, replaced it and fired right up. Never can hurt to try? -
Yea its a shame that they quit making them here. All we have is a good BAJA. (Still own one of them to)

I have leather Toyota Camry bucket seats in my Tacoma and I didn't know you could do the same thing with our old Subarus. Might give it a try.
-
I just seen this Brat on ebay that had leather seats out of a forester. (Picture Attached) I was wondering, how hard would that be? And if it could be done with the seats for a 01 2.5 RS Impreza into a 85 Brat?

That guy is going to be pissed next time you come back when he finds out you took his hood scoop.

If you want an EJ22, why not get a Legacy?
Durania replied to Monte's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I just wish I had been old enough to buy a brand new Brat straight off the showroom floor. Gonna have one when I get my income tax this year. -

Sadly, Not to many of us can afford a $32,000 monster with 300HP that does 0-60 in 4.6 and still have enough to pay for insurance. -
4wd drive unit 84 subaru brat
Durania replied to tsutomu's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If I found that out I would be super pissed. I don't believe you would have to much trouble finding one a dual-range tranny at a junk yard somewhere. -
How To Keep Your Subaru Alive pdf file
Durania replied to baccaruda's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thanks to everyone who is hosting this file on their own personal servers! It is always good to know that good, decent people are still generous enough to stick it to the man. Thank you all. -
what to do with the a/c system? opinions?
Durania replied to rllywgn's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
HOLY CRAP! I never in the world would have thought of that! I believe that I am at a disadvantage being that my A/C unit hasn't worked in many many moons. So Instead, i just took the belt off of it, got at least 4 HP. -
wagon's condition ( My 85 GL)
Durania replied to Buddy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
That's a little weird. -
Thanks greatly appreciated.

They are both off the double head-light models, should be fine? Mine is hanging on by a single screw.
