  1. I know your frustrations as i'm having the same issues currently with my 82' Brat. It sputtered and died on me while driving home about a year ago. I towed it home and parked it in the garage and haven't had a chance to look at it until now. Your symptoms sound identical to mine, so i'll keep you posted on what I find. If jumping the Fuel Pump Control Module results in the fuel pump running with the ignition on, I'd think that would eliminate it as the culprit. As I understood it, the fuel pump controller will prevent the pump from running without spark and not the other way around.
  2. Just a reminder for anyone that we'll be at the house starting at 2pm tomorrow. Details are in the link my brother already posted above. Please feel free to stop in anytime as this will be an open house.

  4. A 250cc two stroke motorcycle motor would most likely put out MUCH more power than a 78 honda 400 motor... But why stop at 250? I've got sources on where to find 500cc Two strokes as well as current 600/1000cc sportbike motors/tranny's! :eek C'mon... if it's "for fun" you can't tell me 100+ RWHP and under 400 lbs. wouldn't be fun!
  5. I remember that hatch... You'd be hard pressed to find a car out of the factory with less dirt on it.
  6. Boost gauge's aren't really necessary until you start modifying... with a stock motor running stock boost pressure it's kind of pointless. BUT, once you start mucking around with things you'll want one, and they're relatively inexpensive... so it couldn't hurt to throw one in there. Stock boost gauges on most cars that come with them *cough* 300ZX *cough* are really innacurate and would need replacing once you modify anyways. But as I mentioned in my last post... suspension/brakes are first, then power. As for special attention for your turbo... compared to a N/A car. Change the oil regularly. (how many miles are on your motor?) Switch to a synthetic oil... mobil 1 and Redline is what I use. And maintain as necessary. It's really not all that much different. Be sure to (if you can) let the car warm up before leaving in the mornings, and when you park the car after driving (ESPECIALLY if driving hard) let it idle for 1-3 minutes before turning it off. (which is what a turbo timer will do for you, so you don't have to sit in your car and wait)
  7. FIRST- TURBO TIMER!!! Maintainance/longevity before speed. Second- Suspension/swaybars (if it's stock WRX suspension they feel kinda cushy and alot of body roll IMO) Third- Brakes... At the very least get some stainless lines, upgraded pads, and some decent (DOT 4 or up) brake fluid in there! Fourth- get some decent sticky tires then... Go auto-x the car... being a new car for you, this should help familiarize yourself with a car that has totally different charachtoristics than an integra. Losing controll of the car on the truck doesn't suck nearly as bad as the street.
  8. Wow... I step away from the forum and in NO time at all the Twinturbo.net guys show up! After selling mine... I kinda miss all the drama over there. Two cars with two completly different markets in mind... with that being said here's my $.02 If given the choice betweent the two I'd take the the STI... sell it for $30k+ and buy a used TTZ and mod the crap out of it! Of all the Japanese Supercars on the market the Z32 is by FAR the best BARGAIN! Can't touch it in terms of $/performance ratio... Don't get me wrong the STI rocks! I'd just rather wait ten years, and pick one up when the price is a little more reasonable (when I'm not poor). tt.net-JRachner
