  1. Looks like your adaptors are a nominal 1 5/8" thick. Did you use 3/4" screw in male fittings? I've found that the water passage from the top of the head can easily be enlarged and cleaned up.
  2. I eliminated the hot water on this SPFI intake. Haven't had time to finish it. Weber carb.
  3. Got some questions. Electric choke, hot water ran to carb base? Don't see any reason the hot water by-pass won't work. You could use a longer throttle cable huh? At one time I bought Rochester stuff from a company in Long Beach, Ca. The Carb Shop mabie.
  4. I priced a 30,000 mile compression test in hand JDM for your car at $2100.00 shipped.
  5. I'd drop the y pipe and check for a clogged cat.
  6. "Had a long conversation with the machine shop and I explained my ring end gap procedure and he was astonished at how oversized the rings were upon purchase. I had only pulled #4 piston at that time. Wish I had kept the box on the rings but they were marked STD and then a O.S. .050. rings overlapped in the cylinder bore by over a 1/6 of and inch by eyesight. not being very experienced I went ahead and gapped them, even the expander ring and oil upper and lower. Machine shop said he had never heard of doing that. Pulled the other three pistons and found much more tension on those three oil rings. Honestly not sure I should have had to do the sizing on the rings like I did, but expander ring not go in the bore without some sizing. I did this by bending the exp ring taps in a bit until I got to spec." New standard rings and a hone job will probably fix this. First time I've ever heard of someone installing .050 over rings in a standard bore. At most a .010" over ring set can be filed and fitted to a standard bore. The OS rings filed that much exert a ton of pressure on the cylinder wall. The oil in that cylinder is the reason for the higher cranking compression. The ring mfg has a preferred cylinder wall finish. You didn't say what grit you used on the hone job.
  7. SuperPro has front and rear bushes available. Australia company http://www.ebay.com/itm/381080464911?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/191586852231?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649
  8. Hey Nipper, I bought 2 16oz rubber spray, It's Permatex. Going to spray my wheelwells. Ran across this stuff called Boom Mat spray on. Just saying. I bought a new old stock brush set for my Justy. Ha one thing I lacked. My car looks like yours. But 4WD. I'm converting the NOS 2wd tranny to 4wd.
  9. That much damage would deserve a salvage title, I'd think. Diminished value right there alone. In Ohio at least.
  10. I have a Canadia 88 GL with manual windows. Do you want some power window motors instead?
  11. Here's the specs on the KYB front struts available from rock auto. These are FWD. Compressed Length (in) 13.94 Cover No Extended Length (in) 19.92 Rebound Stop No Stroke (in) 5.98 Here is the 4WD Gabrial Extended Length 21.25" Collapsed Length 14.00" Stroke 7.25" Here is the Monroe Spectrum 4WD. Compressed Length 14.500" Extended Length 20.625" P839 Travel Length 6.125" Some figures to ponder...
  12. I have a Subie that had 185 80 13 Glacer Grip tires on it. I'm looking at a tire chart right now and that tire is 24.65" diameter. I liked the tire size, this on a 88 GL wagon, front wheel drive. There are 13" tires out there. I've seen gov vehicles with 13. New vehicles...not as scarce as they were it seems.
  13. A 2.5 dohc replacement 2.0 dohc would work for me. Like this.
  14. Wow, I've got what you need but you're in WA. Damn
  15. 05 F 4:44 LSD for example...,
  16. This car was mfg. 04/87 I have proper lug nuts now and bought a new set of 195/55 15 tires. I have a traction wagon trans on hand too. But a five speed early sohc 2.5 4:44 5 speed LSD works for me. Doug
  17. Thanks for your thoughts. The car actually doesn't have a lift at present. I'll have to look at the build date. I do have three DR 5 speeds, however this car is too nice to offroad and will be a daily driver. My plan for it would still be 2.5 sohc with 4;44.
  18. 2013 Subaru Outback Specifications Active Valve Control System (AVCS) variable valve timing intake valves Multi-spray injectors with Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system Continuous AWD with viscous-coupling locking center differential Stability control. Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) with electronic traction control (TCS) Probably has cable shifter
  19. You know, I'm a person that likes a CVT. In passing...the Justy 3.9 geared ecvt is rpm limited to 5600. The current CVT seem to still be a little weak compared to the standard transmissions.
  20. That Outback above has 4:44 standard with the six speed.
  21. Hey Gary, Actually I can buy a 40,000 4:44 LSD for $300.00 delivered to my door. JDM clean low mileage. Thanks for the feedback
