if you have the ea71 and box donor car use everything from it like cross members and linkages and you wont have any problems, but the 5 speed from a ea71 wont bolt straight up to a ea63, different bell housing -

I had a 1400 gsr down under and i topped it out at 115mph with the standard 4 speed mind you i was pulling about 7500rpm. as for a transmission a 5 speed 2wd is what you need, my current gen 2 brumby has the 5 speed 2wd box and it pull 2400rpm at 63mph, 100kph down here

Anyone have info on the FF-1 1.0L motor???
maudsland replied to Kostamojen's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
What information do you want, i,ve got the factory workshop manuals sitting here at my feet -
here in aus my dad worked for the imp[orter of the FF1 back in 1969 and he had lots of parts he had to bring in to satisfy what he was selling, many years ago i tracked down the son of the importer to see what he had and he still had most of the parts he brought in( the cars rarly brokedown) i offered a some for all the parts he had at the time but knocked back my offer, one day if i get the chance i might retrace my steps and see if i can still find him and the parts. unfortunately im FF1 less but my bro has the 2 i had plus 2 of his own, not including all the one's we owned over the decades. By the way those FF1 pics i posted a while back are they still around. Cheers Thierry

Original FF1 ad
maudsland replied to Jack in Norfolk's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Bit of useless trivia about 4wd, the prototype for the 4wd was using a 1300 g ff1 wagon, picture of it going through the snow -
Walter, Give me a buzz at my email carrara_m61@hotmail.com to see what you are after, also my father worked for the importer here in brisbane Australia and the last time i looked he had room full of new spares for the FF1, so if you or anyone is interested let me know and i will try to track the business down and see the parts still exist Thierry
