Passive turbo?
Well the rain would be good to cool the charge under the high boost you might experiance, regards to the bugs i hear that the juice from the bugs are high in octaine so it should prevent more detonation. Cheers Thierry

What is it?
When you say transmission i am assuming that it is an automatic, if so i would say that it is the kick down cable, should mount to the carby at the other end Cheers Thierry

'74 GFT For sale In NZ
If it is a 74 gft it would have the 1400 twin carb motor with 2 port head as well as a 5 speed box, and that box is a very rare item, as it has the 1400 bell housing Cheers Thierry

74 GL coupe for sale
Hi everyone, just got wind of a 74 gl coupe for sale, saw it yesterday and the guy called me just before saying he wants to sell it. It is nearly new, has only about 38000k's or about 25000 miles, it has no rust from what i saw, it was in storage under cover for about 2 decades, no rips or tears in the seats and the motor has never been touched, i took 2 pictures of it yesterday but it is still in the camera. Now for the bad news, the car is in Australia, if i was in the market i would of snaped it up but it came about 1 year to late for me, went down another path. So if anyone is interested give me a bell or pm me Cheers Thierry

Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
Regards to those wheels magazines on ebay, bit of usless trivia, the cars used in the artical came from the dealer my dad was working at and the sports model used also in the artical i ended up with it later on in life but stripped and used it rebuild a better chassis in the early 80's. Cheers Thierry

found another ff1 for sale
bugger, it wasn't due to finish till the 2nd jan, wander what happen there was some jibberish about a bad bidder that i could read while it was up, mind you that wasn't the only ff1 that i came across, saw a racer with the black stripes, not the one from ultimatetarga, have seen pictures of it before while surfing and also saw a 4 door 1300g same time. Don't know what buttons i pushed to find them as it was all japanese to me, but it was in the yahoo japan site. Thierry

What improvements and preformance mods have you seen or heard of that have been made
I had a 74 gl coupe as well as a couple of GSR's and FF-1, on the gl i fitted a 1600 with the 1400 3 port head and the dual carbs, the heads needed to be modified around the water jackets and fitted the gsr cam, the fastest i drove the car was 117 mph and that was with one carb with a partial blocked jet, it was pulling about 7500rpm on the tacho in 4th gear, wish i had a 5 speed. Kosta, you are doing a damn fine job with the car, the only thing that peeves me off is that i got rid of my cars, i am so jealouse, i am still turning the world upside down to see if any fall out of the trees, gently i hope, as for the colour i would go with number 10, reason, it is the closest to what my last car was. I looked at the web site you posted from the guy in japan, i stumbled across it while back, was interested in what he was doing, liked the red wagon with the sport motor in. As i said before you are doing a damn fine job and thank you for getting all the forum invovled. Thierry

Subaru 360 Starts, Runs then Dies
sound like the top of the bores could be corroded and as it gets hot it stops the pistons, binds them up. I've never had a problem like that before, this might sound radical but what if you rev it up to a high idle and see if it clears it up. Thierry

Yes you are right, i should of been more specific, the rears are interchangable with later subies,1400-1600, it is the front's which are hard to find, hence the truck damper. Thierry

Good luck with the shocks, i spend many a year sourcing something, closest i got was from a truck cab suspension, you know what i mean stop the bounce in a truck cab. All else fails get some custom made, set of coil over without the spring. Thierry

if it is just the bare sheel, i have used a 6ftx4ft box trailer, put some timber across the top to sit the body on then lashed it down, 2 people should lift the body on easily. Once it is a roller that makes thing more difficult, something a tad bigger where you can roll it on and off. Thierry

What is this?
Just looking through my haynes manual, subaru 1100- 1600, page 124 it shows the switch and it calls it a illumination switch, what it alluminates i don't know. Thierry
-
What is this?
Well it isnt factory fit, so after market, does your car have the hazard light switch on the colomn, if not it might of replaced it, would be surprised if it didnt operate your hazard lights. Thierry PS if all else fails turn it on and see what it does.
