  1. Grroooovy!!! looks real fun mate!! good on ya, are there anymore movies like that? Cheers Tristan
  2. Not all RX has AWD, some are 4WD. -> I think after 1988 are AWD? Cheers Tristan
  3. How senstive are EA82 on offroad issues??, my future for the EA82 models was made for as a "weekender" car such as basic 4WD, but won't be advanced like where Toyota Land Cruiser would go!! & also join Subaru 4WD club in Victoria. I also have another FWD car and will only be used for on road use/everyday use. I've always admired EA82 models because yes you're right they're roomer in the rear and front and the seats can fold down, good enough for long things like the trimmer etc, and I've grown up along with EA82s. Cheers Tristan
  4. G'day fellas, I need help to give me a discussion to choose which car - 1985 White Subaru EA82 Leone GL Sedan FWD, has power steering, Air Conditioning, 5spd manual, sunroof (factory) pretty good nick otherwise has rust on both side bottom front windscreen (common problem for EA82s) & windscreen needs replacing - easily fixed from a mate of mine who works as panel beater - price - $900AU (@$651USD) or 1984 Grey/Silvery Subaru EA81 GL Wagon - Automatic 4WD, Power Steering, Power Windows, Air Conditioning, Electric Dash with Trip Computer, requires panel work on the front side door and panel, unknown to start because the battery is flat. Rear Seats needs replacing bec the trim is "sun burnt" which is worn to foam rubber as foam rubber is exposed. - Price - $400 AU (@$289USD) What I would like to do if i got 1985 Leone Sedan is to complete my dream project is to install 4WD D/R Transmission on it, and it would've been a nice car to drive around.. or.... get EA81 Automatic wagon and convert it to D/R 5 Speed Manual instead of automatic and have to replace the rear diff as well... What would you guys get?? In my opinion I think I'd rather get the EA82 Leone and do my project on it.. Both Cars above doesnt have rego on them at all. Thanks for your answers Tristan
  5. Replace it asap mate, one time I was driving my car had A/C on whole time it was squeling as well and I ignored it thought "Oh nothing will happen", and when I approched to the traffic lights I couldn't hear it at all, so popped the bonnet up to check it out, the fan motor was soo hot but siezed up bec it was worn out must have melted the metal together?, pity it was on a very hot day and i drive the car against the heat/hot air and the temp was high till i stopped driving and looked for a replacement. I'm pretty sure you can find one at the wreckers (Junk yard) and get another one that works, or get it reco done on it!. Good Luck Cheers Tristan
  6. Quote "JE pistons" What JE Pistons? what are they? Can you tell me what they are/where they from? Reason - It triggered me, thinking of Holden JE Camira (From Australia) Piston from a 2.0 litre engine. Cheers Tristan
  7. Gidday fellas, Since I missed out the sale on that Wagon with the snapped timing belt, and gotten me thinking after I saw a good nick 1985 EA82 Subaru Leone Royle with Power Steering, Air Cond., Sun Roof, 5 spd manual etc. but its a FWD version, If I do buy it and do a project on it by installing 4WD transmission from wrecking 4WD Wagon (from someone that i know who has rusty one from the backyard which is sitting there doing nothing), by taking off the transmission, drive shaft, rear diff & CV joints and install on the Leone to make it into a 4WD. Does anyone have photos, explaination of how to do it? I know that its possible that this question might have been asked before. But I wanted to know if its a good project to do on. And do I have to cut out somewhere for the 4WD shifter? Subaru RX are pretty un-common on the roads here in Australia, I would say I would see around 3 - 5 of them per year. Secondly, LSD Diff - are there some on Subaru Brumby¿? (aka Brat) If I do find an LSD diff and put it on the Leone - is it worth doing that? My future is to use it for 4WD/weekender car. Also I wanted a Sedan because I already have a wagon myself. Thankyou for asking my questions, and sorry if I sounded like "Mr Don't know about Subarus!" heh but really i do know a lot about cars Cheers Tristan
  8. Great!!! thanks heaps, will go and give him a buzz and see if he still has the subie! Cheers Tristan
  9. Sorry forgot to add - its a Subaru L Series wagon, with EA82 engine, 5 speed manual Dual Range, 1990 model. Cheers Tristan
  10. G'day everyone, I've been a Subaru freak since I was a kid, now wants my own Subie, I found an Subaru L Series wagon with Daul Range 4WD. Advertising $900 Australian which is cheap.. but problem is - This fella who owns this Subie said it will cost too much to fix?¿ I dont know the answer is as I dont know what sort of damage hes talking about as he hasnt opened it up/take appart as hes not a mechanic himself.. but I'll tell you what happened, As far he told me he was driving the Subie and the timing belt snapped on the passengers side (battery side/left side) Would there be any internal damage such as bent valves? Just wanna know before I'll go ahead and buy it... IF the timing snapped while driving, what damages are there? Thankyou for answering my questions Cheers Tristan
