  2. Fuse..... no the light wouldn't show.... Switch on steering wheel could be loose? Connections could be loose? Has thats been taken apart lately? Cheers AP
  3. I recently weighted 16" 1999 Legacy GT2.5 mags, they were 7.5kgs/16.53lbs. Can't tell you how heavy 16" steelies would be. Cheers AP
  4. " Is there any possible that you could show us a picture? I've thought in doubt that it wouldnt fit? Cheers AP
  5. Can you make your own as backyard job? if there was some instructions of where and how? Cheers AP
  6. Hey Guys, Since I have an LSD Diff from an RX and I want to put it in my Legacy instead having open diff, anyway I am pretty sure someone here can help me to answer this... Look at this picture below - The problem I have is, I have male - male axels and the diff is female instert into the diff, and the LSD Diff has male shafts (opposite to the one I have on my Legacy) and I can't use the drive shafts because of different connections. Theory: If i got the rear hub from early legacy that has male splines/shafts on it ready for female drive shafts then the diff is no problem to be installed? Or is it possible to change the inside diff for male drive shafts on the LSD? Cheers AP
  7. Yeah that sounds about right, let us know how you went and see if you do save on fuel etc... see if you came any problems etc, could you keep us informed. Cheers AP
  8. I've been asking SAME question for long time, no one seems to know as far I know, I don't wanna gamble if it doesn't work. I wanted to get EJ18 SOHC and fit it on EJ22 for increase of compression, won't be much but noticeable in theory. Cheers AP
  9. Is there any possible for you to take a picture of the VLSD of the internals? Cheers AP
  10. Noticed these 5 lug bolts from legacy on this L Series, how hard was it to get it done? Is it Legacy's hub/discs etc? Cheers AP
  11. mmmm you're not the only boat there, I have the same problem with this Clarion PF1519A Radio, it does reset if the ignition is off over night, radio resets itself, looses clock memory, stations etc. I do not have CD player, I sourced another radio its also Clarion but from earlier model, doesn't loose memory. Its got nothing to do with the car, I believe its the radio itself that has some sort of backup memory to preserve the memory contents that is failing. Cheers AP
  12. This is a picture of two diffs, left side one is open diff - 3.7:1 from L series 4WD, and right side is from an Legacy (Liberty), its an LSD diff 3.9:1. I have to change from 3.9:1 to 3.7:1 to suit my Liberty. Can you tell me what kind of LSD is it? is it Clutch Pack or Viscous LSD? As far I know, I bought this from a mate of mine, he said it was from RX Leone? Before I take apart/put together what do I need to do for service with that LSD? Is there any special tools that require taking the diff apart (I'm aware about the torx tool, gonna get one today) and I have the CV joints seals for the spines. What else? What kind of oil should I use (please, good recommendations), what oil rating shall I use/LSD oil?? Cheers & thanks AP
  13. Here is the picture of the Torx screw that needs to come out from the sub axel. By the way, Later models of Diffs ie. 1990 Legacy/WRX etc, do they require special tool? Because there isn't any torx screw there from what I can see. Cheers AP
  14. Another thing I've been thinking hard about "How to make the cruise control come on every time I start my Liberty" Only one theory It came in my mind is, when you turn the key to Start position to startup the engine, was thinking about getting a wire from there to Cruise Control switch (by pass the wires) which will switch the relay to turn on CC? Wouldn't it work? I have the same problem here, I drive on highway everyday to work. And I cannot live without CC! Cheers AP
  15. heh.. Liberty is same car as Legacy, Legacy which is common name for countries other than in Australia. Really, my Liberty is really an Legacy GT with 2.2 but badged as Liberty GX. Cheers AP
  16. Hey guys.... this is bugging me as no one can tell me... Hoping you guys would tell me! In theory, is that EJ20 & EJ22 Heads has different compression ratios, what happens If I source an EJ20 heads and install on EJ22 engine, would I get increased compression & power hence saving fuel?? EJ20 Heads are 9.7:1 Compression whereabouts EJ22 is 9.5:1 Compression but 10 kw difference. Has anyone here done that kind of project? Are there any mods required (ie. ECM etc) & any side effects? Thank you in advance. Cheers AP
  17. I think I may be wrong with this... I remember someone telling me that there are 8 bolts on the gearbox on EJ Series therefor can't be fitted on EA engine. The EJ Gearbox is different length (I think its longer) than EA Series. Exhaust - can't help but Im sure it'll fit. CVs - not sure.. Drive Tran - will need custom work. Cheers AP
  18. Hey mate, There has been a couple of them in Trading post for around $250-$350. Yeah BYB should help you out. I think I saw a set of them in Dandenong wreckers. Reply this msg if ya interested. Cheers AP
  19. \With my 94 Liberty, I can get between 24-26/27 MPG for average city & highway Driving. IF i drove on full tank on full hwy it'll be around 26 - 29mpg. If you use correct oils, tyre pressure, minimise wind drag, take your time, don't overtake too many cars unless they're driving too slow and don't be heavy foot then you would be able to gain that kind of mpg. EDIT: - Mine is 5MT AWD model Cheers AP
  20. Sounds like the timing is out.... grab a service manual and open up left and right timing covers and have a look if the pointers are in correct position. Cheers AP
  21. These things happen mate. Subaru & Camry are reliable... I sold my SV21 Camry wagon at 360,000 kms on the clock before got my Liberty. - Hopes that Liberty will last as well! heh Cheers AP
  22. I understand the situation you're in, Keep eye on oil (cooling system is ok bec oil keeps it cool but ensure that its not thicking up) but if you have water in oil, its a death thing! Because water doesn't lube the cams, rockers crank etc therefore it'll seize the engine, I know someone who didn't (Drives Ford) know had blown HG been driving till engine seized up. If the oil cup becomes chocolate whiteish colour, STOP driving! And do the HG. Can't be too expensive to get HH and do it yourself with a mate if you are unsure.. Cheers AP
  23. Hehh I wish... but these damn hills where I live! Couldn't get full power to reach 120kmh as I remembered. Cheers AP
  24. Sorry to bring up old post, Can someone re-list the URL for that PDF file as I would like to see it? Cheers AP
