  1. Its nice to have higher wattage globes I know but are you prepared to take the risk to melt your headlights? Cheers AP
  2. Can you show pictures? I can tell one thing - Legacy & OB springs are the same. Its the struts that has longer travel. Cheers AP
  3. There is another way of doing that job - Is to custom made lift blocks and longer bolts in sections, ie. diff carrier section, trailing arms, front cross member so on, by adding 1-4" blocks there then it'll lift. You can use King raised springs will give you extra 1 1/2" lift. But I am not sure I think 96-98 Forrester Springs are same as raised springs? I am trying to find out - but hasnt been good. Cheers AP
  4. Hey guys, I have an lifted liberty here in Australia, and I want to do more work on it ie. extra 1" lift then I'm happy. Now, I wanted to know deep down to further mods, what have you done to it and what kind of mods you have done? That doesnt include the struts upgrade, I am talking about the diff carrier, engine cross member frame and so on, by using lift blocks, also spring towers - can anyone show photos and how thick they are so on. Do you have problems with negative camber in rears - what have you done to solve it? (this is my main problem I have here is negative camber) Cheers & thanks AP
  5. Automatic & manual outback struts are the same. Outback's struts can be fitted on Legacy no problems, but you will need blocks on your rear diff carrier otherwise you'll have negative camber. You can use legacy's springs or new outback's standard springs - both are same part. Cheers AP
  6. Standard Outback springs are the same as legacy's springs? Cheers AP
  7. So these brackets from Forresters are the same as Outback's brackets? Cheers AP
  8. How are your cambers on the rear wheels? are they negative or what have you done to it? Cheers AP
  9. All details are below - http://autospeed.com/cms/A_108415/article.html Cheers AP
  10. This only works if you have electric speedo - http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5435&CATID=&keywords=speedo&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID= I know its in Australia but I am sure you might have something like this in America? (people always upgrade to larger diameter tyres on their cars specially 4WDs etc) Its an idea for you what to get.. that kit requires someone who can solder on. If you wish for me to buy one for you and solder it up for you I can do that for you for $100USD. (requires PayPal) Cheers AP
  11. Using Outback Struts, standard Liberty (Legacy to you guys) springs, running on 205/70 15" with speedo corrector installed to give me correct speed. Cheers AP
  12. There will be a lift - but you won't need any change with the control arms, CV joints etc - Just remove old struts and install new outback struts using your Legacy's old springs or grab some new ones. But you will need to get a wheel alignment afterwards. Thats correct - Both Legacy and Outback's springs are the same, you can get Kings Raised Springs will give you another 1" lift. I'll upload photos of mine in next posting. Cheers AP
  13. Did you guys need outback trailing arms before rasing it? Cheers AP
  14. What was your reason to replace the O2 sensor? bad fuel reading? and did you notice any change after replacement? Cheers AP
  15. I think they're cable driven cruise control, not vacuum controlled? From memory of installation in 1995 LX Liberty from GX was easy but from 95 to 91, I cannot be sure if there will be wiring differences, I think they will be. Cheers AP
  16. Oh i was surfing on ebay.ca web site, there is some oxygen sensors for EJ22 Legacy, are they any good? Cheers AP
  17. G'day, I am hoping you could point out a few things here - Let me get back to the point, I used to have 1994 2nd Gen Liberty sedan AWD 5MT (was around 240,000kms (149,129mi) when written off in Aug. 2006), engine was kinda smokey in cold or if driven hard as 4th Cylinder was on way out, oil was always black after 1500-2000kms. Used to be able to get around 8.4 - 9.4 litres per 100kms (approx 27-24mpg, I remember when I bought it, about 2 months later I bought it, it had cracked "Y" exhaust manifold and I replaced to 2.0 litre Impreza manifold with Impreza O2 sensor, that Impreza was written off at 60,000kms and looked so clean etc so fitted it on mine, I cannot remember the fuel figures before I changed it... Now, I currently own 1996 Liberty wagon AWD 5MT, engine/car is now at 250,00kms (155342mi), oil colour is always golden brown, never goes black between service, previous owner and my ownership is always well serviced on the dot. Fuel consumption is around 9.5-10.8 litres per 100kms (approx 24-21mpg) and until recently its getting worse - never gets in lows 9 litres per 100 or below, for past 2 months its around 10 litres per 100 close just under 11.. What could it be? I've run fuel injectors stuff thru last week - no change. Would it be possible the Oxygen sensor be on its way out? How can I test it? The butterfly/inlet manifold/air flow etc is all clean - no sign of restricted air flow. Transmission and rear diff. has been changed 2 months ago - approx. 8000kms (4970mi)ago. Is it possible Wheel Bearings be on way out? - I have no history of bearing replacement as its not in the books. Tyres are 15"65/195 at 36psi all 4 wheels, same size tyres. (NB - 1994 Liberty had 16"/50/205 mags) What else could it be causing it to use more fuel? Cheers & thanks AP
  18. G'day fellas, In Australia we have specific models of limited edition model of Subarus, mine one is an Ski Edition due it has roof ranks ready for skis hence its a "SkiFX" model.. and I'm hoping someone out there could help me with either two options - To have same match or very close match (yes I am fussy!) to this font in this picture below.. or... Know someone out there that has Subaru Liberty Ski FX wagon that you could take a photo in high quality and email me the photo... Why???? because my wagon's rear door had a run in and the panel beaters couldnt get a replacement sticker and Subaru no longer sells them, the rear doors stickers has been removed by previous owner. And I want to restore the stickers back on my Liberty - I need the real good shape to edit so I can get the stickers made up. Anyone is able to help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers AP Showing the picture wanted a close match - Thats the photo that I got it from - Same colour as my wagon but its not my wagon. Showing the sticker location...
  19. Yeah it'll bolt up. but the final drive will be different, 1997 model is more likely to have either 3.7 or 4.11 where abouts the old one would be 3.9 (you'll need to change the diff over as well) I did use 1990 gearbox in 1995 liberty before wrote it off but had to change from 3.7 to 3.9 final drive. Cheers AP
  20. What they meant was on the ignition module, behind it there is an connector to connect for ECM. Unplug that... then you shld be able to do compression test - gotta do mine as well! Cheers AP
  21. Does anyone have 55/100watt globes in their standard headlight and any problems occur? Just that my headlights/full beam isn't bright enough and I would like to install better lighting - that guy in auto store was against the idea. It has glass outside but not sure what inside is made out of. Are there any alternative options? Cheers AP
  22. My EJ22 wagon does average 24.684mpg (9.558 litres per 100kms) I have a MS Excel chart since January till now, worst figure was 20.74mpg (towing), best was 26.695 (98% highway) no better or worse than that. Is there any secrets or improvements I could look out to gain more MPG? Cheers AP
