  2. wow someone who actually likes a AT I never thought I'd hear someone say that
  3. charol canister can go pm me if you want the emissions removal instructions.. Someone send it to me, and I'll pass it on
  4. dangers or bad wheel bearing? you axle could seize up. Add 55 mph to that and you got a flip into the ditch.. jack the car up and pull on the tires. You can usually feel it by doing that if the bearings are going. Wheels bearings arent too expsensive and arent too hard to replace. Not sure on the newer soobs if they have to be pressed out like the ones on my 86
  5. I wouldnt reccomend doing going into the red for anyone who's reading this thread. Go for it if you want a cracked head.. Personally I dont. Park on a hill nose up, do what the beauregaardhooligan said except I left my car on the hill.. Air bubbles goto the highest point which would be the raidator and hten I filled the rad up while it was on the hill. This stoped the gurgling
  6. Skip - Airbox, (theres prolly 100 names for it) you know the place with where the airfilter goes on the hitachi? Thats what I'm talking about. Yes the stovepipe is hookup and working.. I used 3/8 inch thick rubber exhaust hose that we use on our boats.. The hole is also plugged for winter driving. There is one vacumn line under the airbox assembly that I cann't figure out where it goes.. when I looked at it, it was unplugged and I couldnt find where it would have came from. So I took it and plugged it into a unused vac line outlet.. So what makes me wonder, is where that lil bastard came from. its -30 F outside, so I'm ahave to make this a quick look. Anyone have a diagram of the vaccumn setups? Hitachi'd 86 EA82
  7. Go back there and see if hes got a Turbo for a 84 Nissan 300zx for me.. The electric one.!!
  8. Somethings wrong with my car tonite.. Feels like turbo lag but I dont have a turbo. No power from 1800 to 3 grand and then boom all the power is there.. Any ideas?
  9. someone mentioned S-10 coil over shocks for the rear. I had the coilovers on my 84 S-15 and they were awesome I'm gonna go look at Carquest tommorow and measure the lengths and see if they will fit. I bet they will be way better then the subaru shocks cuz tehy are made to handle more weight
  10. is it a button 4wd or D/R 4wd? I've shifted to 4wd at 65 mph with my dual range..
  11. dont by the cheap ones at fred meyer.. I lost a wiper and ran in bought the cheapest one and the whole wiper blade doesnt even sit all the day down on the window.. it ineffective from both edges in about 4 inches
  12. if you look down by the gas pedal, you can see all the dash vacumn lines etc... thats where the heater control valve goes to. the hot to cold slider is hooked to linkage that runs down to the to valve. You shouldnt have to pull your dash apart just yet, check all the linkage make sure everythigns hooked up I had this problem last year.. Linkage was off
  13. do a search there was a thread last week about it
  14. I did didnt I? hee hee.. God I'm bored.. Friday and no one to go rallyin with
  15. like I said in about 3 other Accel coil/wire/plug threads 8 cylinder universal kit there are 8 wires in there, use the ones that you think it the best. I like my wires a little longer so I used the longest ones and then I ahve 4 shorter ones that I could swap out to. The longer set I have on are about 2 inches longer then what you'd get if you specified you wanted OEM plug wires The shorter ones are just a hair longer then the subaru ones. This is getting way more complicated than it needs to be: 8 cylinder universal kit 8 cylinder universal kit 8 cylinder universal kit
  16. hehe I believe ya skip I didnt know it was all cars.. I figured ABS brakes would have a completely different system since its all computerized
  17. nice pic. If I can get a digital camera I'ma get one of my car like that. last week I shoveled out a ramp on a 40 foot tall snowbank (I only go about 4 feet up it) but it gets pretty good tweak goin. Lots better since the sway bar removal Anyone else got wheel lift pics? post em!
  18. taprackready- the transfer case is just for the rear end for what I understand. Doing it the way you are talking about would probably involve a different tranny such as a S-10 tranny and then you'd have to have a front differenetial iwth a driveshaft going forward from the transfer case to the front diff. John, I am correct?
  19. Like I said in a previous post, if you use the accel superstock coil, you might as well go with the accell 8 mm wires with it. 8 cylinder universal kit is like 24 bucks and you get twice the wires if you get a reg. plug wire kit for a subaru
  20. Subarus are supposed to be bled in the X pattern because of the braking system. Subaru brakes are plumbed together to that if you bust a front passenger brake, the back drivers goes out with it so you still have front drivers side and passenger back brakes. Its Subaru's way of a safety system on the brakes. I buddy of mine worked at a subaru shop for a few years and thats how he told me to do it. And as far as bad calipers go, inspect all the rubber seals on it. Of any of them are cracked, they need to be replaced. I think the calipers are supposed to be replaced every 25k miles anyways.
  21. but if I was to get new struts and shocks, what brand do you guys recommend for a EA82 GL Wagon?
  22. you dont need to jack your car up to bleed the brakes
  23. Heres what Mudrat told me when I asked about a lift for my ea82: Well, 6" lift installed would run about $700.00 and I'd need the car about 2 weeks.......???? if you could afford the cost, I'd say go 8" and then we can stuff the Nissan Transfer case behind your 5 speed, and give you all kinds of gears to run bigger tires...... So if you want a t-case you are gonna have to go 8 inch
