I have an 88 GL Wagon and the gas gauge does not work , at all. I replaced the Dash and the sending unit in the tank, I was wondering if anyone has ever fixed this and if they have how???? Markus56 and I have the same problem with this, but it really Sucks.............. Johns ride is an 86 and mine is an 88............ Jeff

There are a few things you can do to try and figure it out.............. Get a subaru Repair manual, and go for it. The only way I learned was to do it, there are a couple of things to check, thermostat, look for leaks, radiator cap, radiator, Water pump, Water level, make sure the air bubble is out , make sure you fan is coming on, or it might be a blown Head Gasket, If anything you might get to know your car a little bit, witch would never hurt.................. Getting Close now, so who has what planned??? Do you still have Fridays off Scott? I was thinking that we should leave Mount Vernon around 2:00pm that way we can make it down there by 4:30pm and miss a little of the traffic. I have not talked with the other guys in the group but I think that would be the best bet, Shean we would be going by South Center around 3:30pm that way if you could work that at all.................. No The bellhousing is different, the starter is on the side on an EA81 and on the EA71 the starter is right on top. Jeff

Bad Idea, they tend to blow head gaskets like mad............ +1 for the EJ Idea or EA81 it!!! Jeff

no EA82 again there is a lot that goes into one of those SPFI'd EA81's Richard needed to be able to drive it ASAP, so we just went with the same thing as before, but working this time......... Jeff
