  2. Does a 94 legacy instrument cluster fit a 97 legacy dash. also plug in's etc.
  3. By all means change to rear disk brakes. Check out parts wanted and parts for sale .A member can sell you a complete package from a gl10 or an xt. I paid around $100. That is about average. Easy bolt on install.
  4. I just bought bearings for my 88GL 4wd. Got them from Rockauto $65.00. Got seals also. Allan
  5. I have found that the only split boots that are ang good are the ones that are held together with a row of bolts. They work and last a while. I am on 4years on a set on front of my Luv 4x4. Google bolt together cv boots.
  6. I have determand that all the struts on a recently aquired 97 legacy Brighton are worn out. I was just wondering if just the cartridges can be replaced instead of entire strut.Sure would help the pocketbook. Thanks AL
  7. I have an 88gl hatch.Lots of rust but still driveable. The ea81 purrs like a top. Had to put a new muffler on it and couldn't resist a cherry bomb. Sounds great.Gave 400 for it. Havent found a carb for it yet. I need one for parts.
  8. Is there an easy way to tell if a 2.2 is an interfearance engine or not. I have 3. one is 94 turbo but the other 2 could be 91 to 97.?
  9. Need some help. Had a ball joint come out and screwed up front end on one side. Are the axles different from an 88 g l coupe ea81 and a gl wagon ea82. Ea82 axle seems longer. I haven't been able to dissemble it all yet. Looks like i am gonna need parts.
  10. Some bad days are worse than others. To get out of my place and get to main road a steep hill must be climbed. Ie put in 4wd throttle up and hang on. No 4x4 forget it. I was headed out in GL coupe when I had a loud bang and car dove of the road. Pulling it out with larger 4x4 i see rt front wheel tucked up under fender and pointed hard right. A little more probing found that inner cv joint had exploded. There were little bits of it all over. everything is bent. Got a lot of parts to change. Good thing there is an old dl wagon up in the back As soon as weather permits will have to start pulling things off.
  11. This thing is weird. None of the usual places are there. The little doors on the side of the rear corners not there. I shall have to try to find an owners man. Silly little car.
  12. still don't see anything. my gl wagon has a cardboard cover but don't see one on coupe??
  13. Where do they hide the jack and lug wrench in these little subies. No I don't have an owners manual. And yes i am about half blind. Found nothing in search. 1988 GL coupe
  14. Boy what a beauty. I wish my 88gl looked like that. I do have ea82 and 5spd/r. Goes about anywhere.
  15. Whats the best (not to much$)service book for the 88gl coupe I just bought? all my subie"s are ea82 or ej22. This little car runs good and the body is lot better than my gl wagon. It needs some fixin befor I can get it through inspection.
  16. Wish my 88gl looked that good. Very nice.
  17. Boy I wish my 88 gl looked half that good. Congrats. By the way full size spare fits fine under hood.
  18. Being an old Corvair nut (had about 20 of them) They are not as bad as people say. As long as you carried a 9/16 wrench and a fan belt you were fine. I drove a Volkswagen camper with a corvair 110 in it all over western us. I had a little turbo spyder that I used to terrorize My neighbor's Porche 911 on a wild road going to work. The corvair accelerated fierce.
  19. Someone on the board had given me a couple parts suppliers that had part and good prices. I Guess I lost everything when I had 2 hard drives fail. one was all my backup stuff. I was looking for a little u shaped hose for my 94 Legacy. They had it and price was reasonable. If I could find those suppliers again I would sure appreciate it. Search came up empty. Thanks Allan
  20. This is terrible. I get a picture of a guy trying to out run his subie and yelling stop. Seriously I had a similar problem and it was the starter solenoid. It took 3 rebuilt starters to get a good one.
  21. This is a white car from south StLouis. I would love to have good pics of engine with all those hoses. For example I can see where one heater hose goes but not the other one. Allan
  22. engine is in car.I need to hook up exhaust and all those hoses. I would appreciate any help.
  23. I think I have gotten up the creek. Major computer crash and lost all the pictures of engine in 94 Legacy. I didn't tear it down and the guy who did can't help. (stroke) It is a turbo model and I don't have access to one to see where all of it goes. I have a 91 but it isn't a turbo and is completely different. I am open to any suggestions or ideas. I hate to scrap it as it is very nice.
  24. to try to explane it better it is about 3/4" diam opening. it will lay in palm of hand. It runs from bottom of intake manifold to a nipple just below it. Hence the tight 180 or U shaped bend.
  25. on my 94 legacy turbo there is a little (U) shaped hose under the alternator that goes to intake and motor It is apparently only on the turbo as I don't see it on a 91 non turbo. Does any one know what I'm talking about and has anyone ever found one. I have no subie dealers closer than a hundred miles and they don't even want to talk to you without a part number.
