  1. soo.. all you do to get them in is tighten the nut down? what is the size of the pvc?
  2. http://www.titanstore.com/store/trailer.html then click on bias
  3. these look cool and there d.o.t. approved for high way speed. but they dont have any info on them on there site.
  4. not to sound lazzy but can you post a thumb nail.. thanks They all come out as the home page link.
  5. That reminds me of the marks I got as a kid when my parents would beat me with a clothes hanger
  6. That is my hopes. I have come to the conclusion that the brat is a education in process. I hope to deck heads and swap pistons and put a reground cam in it. We will see where this road leads me.
  7. some thing else that some one said works on installing them is you can take the old one out (bearing) and grind down the side a bit so it slides easily in the houseing and make that in to a tool to tap in the new bearings. I guess you could use jb weld to put a plate on the old one so you would be tapping on the plate and not have to worry about hurting the new bearings.. Least I think that is the idea.
  8. I thought about buying all of them up and then resaleing them at 200-350 a set I could make 2000 grand ez..but ..but... I thought about the fact that I really appricate the help I get on this board and that if most of the old scoob fans on this board are as half as cool as Mcbrat was about saleing me my car.. that I would just hate my self for it later.
  9. Nice to hear you got one I hope all who want one gets one before they are gone. Now lets see a write up on the install of one. I am too new at this to be the genuie pig. :-\
  10. search is your freind..use the word "alive" as your search word Or You can click on me 23.9mb http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=51452&highlight=alive
  11. Ok.. Sorry it took so long but hopefully it might be worth it to a few. Ok Mykal at Stratus2000 and he did have 8 of these and I think he said 7 of them had carbs. I recived on wensday the only one that had a air filter box:banana: . I dont know how many he has left but here is the info last time I talked to him. "JOHN, THE CAM WOULD WORK GREAT WITH THE CARBS YOU MAY HAVE TO CLEAN THEM UP THEY HAVE BEEN SITTING FOR A WHILE. THE DUAL CARBS ON THE MANIFOLD $100. AND THE INTAKE ONLY $50." IT came to like 122 for the total for shipping for the dual carbs and intake. his contact info is here. http://www.stratus2000.homestead.com/
  12. I am in the process of doing this on my 87 brat. Ok here is the most usefull info I got. DOWN LOAD the pdf file for keeping your subaru alive. I bought it on ebay before I knew I could down load it here. They do a pretty good job of explaining it in a no no-nonsens kind of way. Pluss this book has some fun humor. Next. I bought the pre sealed berrings that are packed and sealed on both sides. http://catalog.drivewire.com/drivewire/baseline/quote.jsp?partner=drivewire&year=1982&product=K8000-21621&application=000168444 Not a bad price 30.00 for both berrings. They look built when you get them. I am still putting these in.(wating for time off) You still need some hi temp wheel berring grease for the housing though and a slip tie to attach the brake housing to the strut so it does not pull on the brake line while it hangs. I am a new-bee and still learning how to do this. Also use alot of pb blaster and some spare pins for the castle nuts. I hope this helps.
  13. So painfully simple... I got to go now and punch my self in the face with a claw hamer. Thanks
  14. how do I know that my pilot hole is center for the tap the bolt is broken below the serface. I can get to the back of the bolt on the other side.
  15. not to sound too dumb but should I drill it out and try to extract it or drill a bigger hole and retap for a larger bolt? I have not put any pb blaster on it yet. I snaped it where the thread side is in the housing. I was thinking of letting it set in pb and then put a very small bit of jb weld on the other part of the bolt and then trying to unscrew it again. Since I had no lube on it the first time I tried to pull it. any one know that size of that bolt off the top of there head. Not the driver sizes but the bolt diameter. I am looking for a tap set right now
  16. well in sound audio meets we would just pour in a few pounds of concrete in to the car.. probbaly wont work for your application but it sure kills sympathetic resanace (sp)
  17. Thanks. I am just leary of posting twice. Nasioc will bite your head off for doing it. Rock auto.com does not have it:mad:
  18. Well I have snapped the bolt that sits above the steering ball joint and fear that I will have to replace the whole housing:banghead: . So where other than a jy can I find one. I have yet to try the local part stores. Do you have a website that you can give me to look for one. it is for a 87 brat
  19. http://www.nebraska-subaru.com/interactive/gallery/view_photo.php?full=1&set_albumName=albun30&id=bshaw like this one here
  20. Well I own a modified cobb stage II 04 wrx and a 87 brat. They are both fun but in diffrent ways. I how ever dont think the new subarus are hard to work on. It just suck on the wrx that you have to remove the inner cooler to do any thing... even just checking the trans fluid level.. I personaly would get a old body type (2 door) RS for your first subaru. They look great (better then the wrx) and they cost less the a wrx plus you still get the na 2.5 liter motor which is a great motor to do short dirt tracks!!
  21. You can count me in unless work shoots me in the banna. By that date my brat should be good to go and my house will be built so if ANY one wants to camp on my land (8.8 acres) they can. I am less than a hour south of timber ridge. Bring your tent and your scoob and we can do a BBQ and stuff.
  22. The gentelman that would be able to supply these has already ran them on one of his ea81. The only reason I am wating on posting all of the info is. 1. I want to make sure I can get mine (wating on a e-mail) 2. I want to make sure that all the info I post is complete so you will not have a hard time getting one. (still wating on a e-mail) 3. I want to give it time on the board for those who dont frequent it much As far as it being off a truck.. I dont think they ment brat when they said that.
  23. I think if all goes ok it will be cheaper to just buy this one with the carbs on it.
