  1. i found a 94 justy that needs a motor, but so far, i have only been able to locate a 1.2 out of a 89 justy. are the motors the same? if not, is there any big differences?thanks Jon
  2. contact tailgatewagon, he has done the ej22 swap into a 79 wagon. he did have to use the ej22 tranny i believe.

you mean you are tearing up that beauty in the pic below?i almost bought that when it was for sale:-p
  4. Alan, other than the cv and rear bumper, how was the body, paint, and interior of Pete`s wagon? i would appreciate any info. thanks Jon
  5. i do realize that the justy has an inline 3 sitting sideways, but even being opposed cylinders, the ea71 is a narrow engine.
  6. i found a 94 fwd 5sp Justy 20 mins from my house for $125, its a 2 door and the body is great. the guy says it runs, but has a worn crankshaft (is this notorious for these?) i know motors for these are a pain to find in good shape, but i have a higher compression ea71 sitting here with a weber carb, i can probably find a 5 speed tranny to hook up to it from a 78 or 79 fwd gen 1. i also have a ea71 y-pipe. i was just wondering, would it be possible to mount a ea71 w/a five speed tranny into the justy? i like the simplicity of the ea71, but i am just wondering if there is enough space in there between the rails and the legth of the engine bay. thanks Jon
  7. i thought you were on TW8? wasn`t TW7 a TW5 replica? i am sure this one will turn out sweet too. i am working on JUNKYARDBRAT #1 right now:brow:
  8. how tall are you? i am 6ft, and my brat is confortable for me
  9. there are a couple sets of 14 inch pugeot wheels in the marketplace, they will bolt right on your brat. other than that, i think drilling 6 lug wheels would be easier than the 5 lug swap. when doing 6 lug wheels, like the ones you would see on a toyota, nissan, or chevy pickup, all you have to do is pop out 2 of the studs on your subaru 4 lug bolting plates, then bolt that plate to your 6 lug wheel, the 2 studs will line up with 2 holes on the 6 lug wheel. then take a drill press or hand drill, with a bit the size of your bolting plate holes, and use those holes as a pattern. then reinstall the 2 studs, but the bolting plates back on the soob, and bolt on your new 6 lug 14, 15, or 16 inch rims:D i have heard very good things about this swap
  10. the jump seats themselves are the same, but the mount is more narrow for a gen 1. it can be welded in
  11. $800-1000 seems fair to me, but it depends on how much you want an old sube
  12. that is a scary comparison:eek: anybody want to buy a nice brat??? i`ll give you a huge discount:brow:
  13. i have to say, i really like the look of that car. with some fatter tires tucked under it, it would even be sweeter. i am inclined to paint my 86 brat with can now:D maybe flat black or something:brow: is there any motor mods on yours? a 4wd 4sp conversion would be kewl
  14. yeah, i wouldn`t mind having a bunch of pretty ones, but i usually end up looking for more....then buying more......then spending all my money.......then having to sell one to get out of debt, and the circle of subarus keeps going on. i like the Wa and Or cars, they seem to hold up the best. i will probly bring a couple more soobs from over there this year. there are MANY cars that go through my driveway each year, subarus are just the ones i hold on to for a while, but buying and selling is what i have done for years. anyway, take care, Jon ps. Mary, i wish this one could look like your red 86:brow:
  15. it was Shawn in NJ (shawnsbrat). he bought his engine parts from Ram Engines, you might want to look them up. Jon
  16. yeah, i am definatly going to treat the rust quick, i already bought some rust converter, have you ever used that? the inner fender wells are actually very solid, as are the shock mounts and the frame rails. i lift would be nice:brow: i just hate to put another $400 into it:-\
  17. well, i am working on my next project, which will be called "JUNKYARDBRAT" but i need some suggestions. here are some pics: http://photobucket.com/albums/d118/ruppenduro/JUNKYARDBRAT/?sc=5 (its an 86) i am into it for a little over a grand already, which is not usually where i like to be for a car in this kind of shape, although it still is very solid, there is only 4 or 5 little spots of rust on the whole car, none of which are structural. it runs pretty good, i just have to put on a new y-pipe gasket to get rid of an exhaust leak, but other than that, its pretty smooth. the interior really isn`t bad, i just had to take out the carpet. everything seems to work so far. so what do you guys think i should do with it..... finish putting it back together, leave the panels rainbow colored and drive it:brow: different colors add character right?? do some body work on it and have maaco paint it for around $400 sell it and hope to get my $$ back i`m open to any suggestions. thanks Jon in NY ps. for all of you that have given me a hard time, THIS is why i like buying cars from the west. the 78 brat from AZ put this Maine brat to shame.
  18. here is your man: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/member.php?u=673
  19. Brian, if you want to make a some $$$ on your trip east, i would be very interested in the roll bar from that brat, and a few other small items:brow: seriously, let me know.thanks Jon
