  1. #12 is labeled as stop/horn. i looked at all the fuses and they all are good. i pulled the right kick panel and there is just alot of wires. their was 4 or 5 different color plugs but i didn't see no module.
  2. do you know what the other fuse is labeled as. i only seen one that says cruise.
  3. where is the cruise module. i only knew of one fuse. are they both in the fuse box under the dash. i will have to check.
  4. i tested the 2 relays behind the glove box and they work. i ran a wire from the battery to the pump and it turned on. what else is there.
  5. i got new clutches and solonoid in my 90 a while back and what i did is i took the rear housing off my self and they put the parts in at the subie garage. it cost me somewhere around $500 for the parts and them puting them it. taking it off was not brain surgery, i spent most of the time taking the exhaust apart.
  6. i know not everything is there. but the plug is the same as the one in my other car with cruise. so some of the wiring has to be there.
  7. 90 legacy. did cars without cruise still have the wiring for it. i had the dash apart and noticed that there was a plug behind the blank spot where the button would be.
  8. why did they use more that one type of system. my 90 4wd and my g/f's dads car are identical except for color. they even have the same options. they were both built 5/89. why do the lines mount on different places on the pump and the condenser.
  9. i got one for $60 at advance auto a while back and it took the garage 10 min. to change it, my boot was completly gone and it had been like that for a while. it never made any noise.
  10. i just noticed on my other 90 legacy that their is a small leak on the reciever/drier on one of the lines. it has to be a small one because it still blows cold. what would it cost to fix the leak. i got another compressor today. he did say something about putting new oil in it.
  11. it's not a belt noise. it's kind of a knocking noise. he said since their was nothing in it and it hasn't been used in a long time it's going to eventually lock up.
  12. ok, i found out the condencer had a very large leak. it sounded like something punched a hole in it. i called a.r.kinleys and they wanted $75 for one. i went to the local junk yard and got one for $40 and it still had pressure in the system so i know it wasn't leaking. the garage filled it and it blows cold but the compressor is now making a noise. so i'm going back to the junk yard tomorrow to pull the compressor from the same car. then i gotta take it back to him monday to refill again.
  13. i've never heard of that being a common problem. i'm going to him because he is charging me $29 to check and recharge it. everybody else i called wanted $100 or more. if he can find the problem and it's something expensive i will have to wait a while to fix it. i gotta call him in the morning to see if he can get me in.
  14. i talked to a guy about refilling it. he said that the evaperator under the dash leaking is a common problem with these cars and it would be expencive to fix. i gotta take it up to him to check out tomorrow. i am hoping that it's just somthing simple leaking.
  15. i connected 2 wires to the battery and then to the plug, and the clutch turned on. so i'm betting my problem is low or no refrigerant.
  16. i put a new battery in my girl friends moms car. 96 legacy. after i did there was a clicking noise under the dash almost sounded like a turn signal. it did it with the car off or on. i found this black box to the left of the brake pedal. on one of the wires going to it was a little button. after pressing it the noise stopped. what is this box.
  17. i'm not sure about your car but if it comes apart the same as a 90 then their are 2 screws behind the cup holder and 2 under where the ashtray is. i used a philips head bit and put it in a socket to get them loose. then you should see the radio screws.
  18. what's the average cost of refilling the system. i called a few local places and they wanted well over $100 to do it. thats just to refill not to fix the problem if their is one.
  19. their are 4 wires in that plug on the drier. i used my ohm meter and checked all 4 wires in all the combinations i could and the meter said out of limits for all of them. how would the ac shop find the leaks. would they fill it first then check.
  20. before i put the switch in i tried putting the car in low to make it work and it made no difference. the car acted just like a fwd. it WOULD spin if i was in a parking lot. the switch is not something that is used everyday, just incase the car would get stuck i would have it.
  21. yea i know that. the switch stays on most of the time but if i start to spin in snow or mud or whatever i flip the switch so it locks the clutches.
  22. couldn't i use my meter to see if it has power to the plug(not the compressor side). wouldn't that tell me the same thing. if it's getting power then the clutch is bad.
