    only thing i put on it were the struts for a 97 outback and bigger tires, everything else is stock
  2. every shift, but when the car is cold the delay is longer. when it shifts i can give it gas and their will be no increace in speed then after 5-10 seconds it kicks in and everything is normal. when downshifting from 4-3 their is a slight delay. the rpm's will slowly climb up then it kicks in to 3rd.
  3. i tried shifting it manually through the gears and it still does it. i called a local subie garage to see if they had a good trans and they said 90-94 are the same. is the wiring and everything the same on these years?
  4. i've never had a problem with the front rotting. so i was just thinking maybe it has something to do with the guards. i meant get a set from the junk yard for the rear. then i'll have 1 for each wheel well
  5. on my legacy the front has a plastic guard that runs all the way around the fender wall. i have always had a problem the the rear fender walls rotting. anyone ever take that plastic guard from the front and trim to fit the rear to keep salt, mud, etc out of there, is it possable.
  6. i think i may have figured out my problem. i put the top rad hose on the other day and i still had the puddle. i just found out it is oil not coolant. so i think i had 2 leaks. after fixing the hose and still seeing wetness i assumed it was coolant. the sensor below the alt is the oil pressure sensor and i think it's leaking. it is possable for it to break and leak out the top right? do i have to remove the alt to change it and is it a part most auto stores have in stock.
  7. on the front top of the engine under the alt. and next to where it says ej22 their is some kind of sensor. it looks wet around and at the wire connection. what is this part.
  8. as far as i know their are no codes. it has done it since i got it. it gets better after warm but their is still a delay in the 2-3 shift. i have not tried to shift manually and their is no lag between r and d. if i am accellerating fast and the engine is at 4000 rpm or more the rpm's do jump up some on the 2-3 shift. it almost seems like it's between gears then it grabs and all is fine after that. only does it on the 2-3 shift.
  9. when it shifts into 3rd their is a delay in power. the trans shifts but it takes about 5 seconds for the power to go to the wheels. it almost feels like i'm letting off the gas when i'm not. after stopping i have to wait about 5 seconds before i go again or it will start out in second gear. what can be causing this. or is it time for a new trans.
  10. its possable the sensor could be leaking because i changed it a while back. but i just wanted to know, is their any kind of seal or gasket that could be leaking.
  11. i thought it was comeing from the top hose but its not. i got a puddle of antifreeze under the intake laying on the top of the motor on the right side. it's running down the front and getting the timing cover wet. where could it be coming from.
  12. put the temp sensor in and after driving around a little the engine light went out
  13. the car has had the p0420 for a while now and has always ran fine. so does this mean that the sensor was acting up a while ago but now just started causing problems
  14. i got 2 codes. p0420(catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1) which i knew about for a while, anyone know what this means. p0115( engine coolant temperature circuit malfunction)
  15. i just found out that i doesn't do it in the morning. only after being driven. would a leaking injector turn on the cel
  16. it was checked for codes a while back and it has a code for the cat. the check engine light is always on so it's possable it's throwing another code and i don't know it.
  17. most of the time the car runs great but on occasion it is very hard to start. it will crank and not even try. but i found out if i hold the gas pedal in it will start but smokes for a few seconds. otherwise it runs great and has good power.

  19. subie just proved to me what it can do in the snow i was driving around playing in the snow tonight. close to a foot. i see my step-dads ford f-250 stuck half way up the alley behind our house. he backed down and gave it another try and made it 1/3 of the way up. i tried the soob and went up it 3 times with little effort. you have no idea how good this makes me feel. the general grabber at2's work great on it.

    i parked next to an outback and my car was twice as tall.

    got it all done. general grabbers 205/75-15 and gold 15" subaru wheels. it is a very tight fit. i had to remove the plastic rocker panel protector on the rear of the panels. their is like an 1/8 clearance in the front of the rear tires. no rubbing though.

    probably not. i've been working alot of hours lately and saturdays 3rd shift. (cv axle rebuilder). however i will try to get pix. i have them on a cell phone, how do i get them on to the computer
  24. when trying to start it either does nothing or cranks over 1 time and stops. then we got to keep turning the key about 5 time before it cranks. we have a new starter we got for free. i might put that on and try to fix the bad one for a spare
