  1. looks good! did you spray bomb it or use a paint gun?
  2. i would probably hammer on a smaller socket if i didnt have a nut splitter handy. hit the rest of those nuts with pb blaster!
  3. ... so do we have a meal plan figured out? i know a certain someone wants to go to georges!
  4. if we're still in a bind, would i be able to register the wagon as a second car and get that same rate seeing as i already got the mailer from carlisle?
  5. the april meet is on sunday, the 15th! 2:00 at the red robin!
  6. i might be able to do WaHo by 9. ill bring my cooler again, but i dont have anything to cook with.
  7. white smoke is most likely coolant. how much oil are we talkin in the pcv hoses? youre likely to find some old crusty build up, but i dont think you should find fresh oil dripping from the lines.
  8. i cant remember if i already asked about this, but would any of you fine folks be interested in going on a group drive? i plotted a 70-something mile trip for the carlisle meets that starts and ends in carlisle, winding through some twisty roads through perry county. some of it is scenic, and it passes through little buffalo state park.

    Stpr 2007

is anyone heading up to STPR this year?? im going, bringing a few friends too. ill be staying in a motel in mansfield, the next town over from wellsboro.
  10. what are we gonna do about food? i wouldnt mind eating out again, personally. paul, we dont have an IHOP around here, but we do have a waffle house. theres a few 24/7 diners in the area too.
  11. they look a lot nicer than the big gangly musclecar hood pins i put on my wagon. however mine are on there to keep the hood from flying up. i had a scare on the road a few years ago. i later found out the bracket that bolts to the hood wasnt bolted in tight enough. oh well, better safe than sorry...
  12. very true. the displacement is about the only thing they have in common.
  13. it might be the HVLAs making noise. my wagon has been making noise because its been sitting a while and its got 5w30 in the crankcase. takes a while for the noise to go away. i think theres a company called mitzpah engineering that sells rebuilt hvlas.
  14. daeron, im sorry if i misled you. the large seal you linked to in your parts thread (the style as posted above) looked nothing like the ones i got from the dealer when i did my t-belts/cam tower rings, thats why i questioned them. http://oem.thepartsbin.com/parts/thepartsbin/wizard.jsp?year=1989&make=SU&model=LOY--001&category=A&part=Cam%20Support%20O-Ring&dp=false the top kit on that page is the kit i used.
  15. we have another meet, on sunday, march 18 at 2:00! i forgot to mention, if the weather is nice, we'll be going on a group drive! bring your frs radios if you have 'em!
  16. how would i go about this? remove the rad cap and let the car run for a few mins?
  17. well the aav has voltage. i played with the idle screw, and noticed that it would stop the oscillation if i had it screwed in most of the way. it would still idle pretty high, though. puzzled, i shut the car off, and restarted it. then it was idling normally, just under 1k rpm. would a dud cts really skew the idle that much?? and what is the small screw facing the firewall on the back of the throttle body for? i turned it and didnt see any result.
  18. thanks for the replies, guys. i will check the aav connector. last i checked, i didnt see any corrosion. skip, should i check for voltage when the engine is cold or hot? i replaced the CTS last summer, so i dont think its suspect, unless the advanced auto pieces are known to be defective.
