  1. the wagon (89 ea82t) has been idling strangely. idles ok off a cold start (a tad under 2000 rpm), then 5 mins or so after the car has warmed up the idle magically increases to ~2500 rpm. it holds that peak for about a minute, then drop offs suddenly to ~1000 rpm, and then build back up to 2500. it will continue to do this, with oscillations becoming more frequent as it runs. it will idle normally after about 10 mins. im thinking the aav (or whatever its called, the thing on top of the thermostat housing) is borked. i really have no idea what else would cause something of this sort. if the aav is suspect, exactly how do i check it?
  2. i know they have trailer parking. how else would all those trailer queen kit cars get down here?? hopefully ben will chime in. i know he had a spot for his truck & trailer last year.
  3. it shouldnt be too hard to find us. just look for a large tent and listen for matt and myself yelling at people for trying to park their hyundais and hondas in our club spot!
  4. i was referencing this, not the pic of the head gasket. :-\
  5. i dont know about the intake gasket, but the cam tower rings dont look right. those are supposed to go under the cover under the cam sprockets right? the ones i got at the dealer looked much beefier than those.
  6. i need to register the wrx. i sincerely doubt ill be bringing the wagon this year. keith, id like to see the 05. or possibly the rx?
  7. yeah, it wasnt too shabby. pretty freakin cold though. one of these days we're gonna take over the whole restaurant!
  8. another meet coming up! sunday, feb 18 at 2:00 at red robin!
  9. some of the waterpump kits come with it. the one i got at advance came with one.
  10. youll find a lot of similarities between nissans and subarus. so far your plans sound good. if you look in the retrofitting forum, you can find injector upgrades if you plan on turning up the boost.
  11. ill see about bringing my wagon too. ive been working on getting a monthly subaru meet in carlisle for the area; i will pitch this at the folks there to see if they would be interested in showing up (imprezas most likely).
  12. i liked going out to eat. yeah we had to wait a while at hoss's, but we dont necessarily have to eat in carlisle.
  13. wrong show man... this is the kit-car/import show, NOT the sport compact show also known now as the performace and style show. oh yeah, and ill be there!
  14. hey folks, im inviting everyone whos willing and able to stop by at the Carlisle, PA Red Robin on Sun 1/21 @ 2pm for the first of our (hopefully) monthly area meets. link to nasioc for the original thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1169801 feel free to pm me if you have any questions! thanks, john
  15. i dont think this is uncommon. i know that some vehicles do come with hid high beam, because a nissan murano-ish car nearly fried my retinas one night.
  16. try this http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/USRM2/mick-usrm/electrical/ecucodes.html
  17. that thing is pretty cool lookin. i had an autometer a/f meter and could never get it to read right. then again, it didnt have as many wires to connect either. like jeffast said, theyre pretty much used for getting a good idea of what your afr is at. youre gonna need a wideband O2 if you plan on doing any accurate tuning.
  18. well i also use the standard rain-x glass treatment. that always seems to help prolong the life of the blades, probably because im not using the wipers as much.
  19. i really like the rain-x brand wipers. silicone blades so they wipe more smoothly and last longer.
  20. cool car! looks like it would be fun to drive.
  21. oh thank god its not just me. i thought it just a little odd that my wagon gets the same milage as my wrx.
  22. very clean! you should paint the trim to match the front bumper though
