Amasing that it took 17 replies to get to the quickest thing to check and simplist thing to fix.... The bladder should be recessed up into the lid, if not it will push the fluid to the side and push the sensor down, activating the light.

Grind my Outback's calipers to fit 15s? Who knows how?

Like Porcupine said, the calipers you have will probably fit on the smaller brackets. If, not then you'll need the calipers off of the donor also.

Tie rod ends

Use a screwdriver and hammer to bend them out of the way. Then either a big wrench, adjustable wrench or pipewrench to turn it loose.

can you pull an EJ engine and trans at the same time?

After they came out, I decided that I would never pull them together again. I think I had to lower the car off the ramps in mid pull :-\ If I'm ever going to pull both again, I'll yank the engine, then use the lift to pull the trans out though the top.

They also don't list their prices or retail prices?? But if you call them, their service is great, mention that you were referred by subaru-svx.net and you will get prices that are within a few cents +/- (mostly -) of any other online dealer. Sometimes I call with numbers other times I call with a description and they have never let me down. Today I called to order 6 items, I only had the part numbers for 4 of them. All together I was on the phone for less than 4 minutes . For shipping, they use UPS and charge actual shipping, they never do flat rate and never charge for handling. A few other members that I talk to have used them with no complaints.

transmission jack for subaru's?

It's decent, but too high to stick the trans on and roll it under the car unless you get the car 3 feet in the air. What I've found that makes things much easier, especially doing it on your own it to use an engine hoist. Extend the boom as far as it will go and then hoist down between the engine and the firewall. this will allow you to take up the bulk of the weight up front, then get the trans jack (or a smaller hydraulic jack) under the tail.

Disassembling headlight assembly ?
Hocrest replied to Chip's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThis is what I've done to get the front lens off of my SVX headlights. -Preheat oven to 200* -Remove all of the little clips that clamp the lens to the body, remove all the rubber boots. -Put the assembly in the oven -With gloves start checking it in a few minutes, it should take no more than 5 minutes -Pull the light apart, leave all of the goopy black glue where it is, IT IS HOT IF IT STICKS TO YOU IT WILL HURT. -If the glue "strings out" try to tuck it back into where it came from -Once the lens is cool, you can clean it. -To re-assemble, putthe pieces in the oven to soften the glue, this time only for about 1/2 the time. -Using gloves, pull them out and imediately push them together. If you don't get it together tight, back into the oven... The lights on my Legacy, look to be the same materials as the SVX. On the legacy, there is also a screw on the back edge, by the corner marker.

Rear differential question

It actually makes it easier if you don't use PB on the rear nuts. This will sometimes cause the nut to turn the stud out of the case. Then you don't need to slide the whole thing forward 2" to clear the studs.

I'm looking at the ridge on the bottom???? Even if it is though, the front bumper and the two tone are the main characteristics. Post a pic of your car, if I have time, I'll play with PS.

Caught by a "Catch 22"

Rules say we had 10 days to get it inspected. I've been driving it for 9 days with no stickers. It had a PA plate/Reg sticker and an expired out of state Insp sticker. I've been past many local and state cops and no problems. You're in the process of doing the right thing, have an appointment set up at the inspection station and the phone number ready if the cop wants it. Just make sure you have nothing that you don't want found in the car during the wait :-p After driving her car for about 5 days through Northeast PA and NY and CT, we were cleaning it out on Sunday and found a small baggy with a few flecks of "Oregano" and some seeds:eek: HONESTLY officer, we just bought the car, that doesn't belong to us!!!!!!

I'm doing some late night browsing and I thought I'd update this... Tom built the first "built" SC'd engine for Sicksubie. Tom's own engine should be done in the next week or two. Official numbers should be coming shortly after that.

Pearly Baja????
Driving in Pittston this morning I saw a Pearly White Baja with a silver bottom. It looked really nice I've never seen this color before on a Baja. When was this available or was it a custom job???

Swapping a AT to an MT in a 97 Leg???

I needed a working car and swapped the engine and trans in two days. I had the 4EAT that we pulled out of the racer, and needed the car on the road... If I keep the car, I still plan on swapping it. But as of right now I'm looking for a cheap 5-spd wagon for me, and the auto sedan can go to Melis's daughter. As for hyd/cable it was going to depend entirely on what I found at the yard. :cool:
