  2. i only converted over to points on my ea71 coz i could not get the correct cap from anywhere in nz. the cap was like an ea82 turbo cap exept it was was turned about 1/4 of an turn i guess you could say its bit hard to explain.
  3. i did change over from electronic to points on my 1988 DL EA71 wagon. it didnt work as well as i thought. just couldnt get it to run as well. had it looked at an few times. still wouldnt work as well. but it did run for all the rest of the time. one thing i had prob with when i changed it over was i could get it to start and idal for 30secs then it would die. i had 1 lose wire that i got told wasnt needed, i earthed it on the body and the fuel pump ran and the engine kept running which was good

  5. well if some one had the money send it to an good tunning shop. they rebuild it and do there stuff 2 it. get massive power and be relible too.

  7. i actually didnt think of that, would it fit in between the rails? I tryed to get hold of some dimentions for the ez30 but know one was able to tell me what they were. i may just end up using my svx motor go with what i have. then thats means all i have to do is find me an 6spd and drive line etc... if an cheap ez30 turned up i probly grab it and use it
  8. well also if i went with ez30 and wanted to spend the monney ( like $15000nz ) rebuild motor twin turb it and get an nice relible 800bhp lol not that i would ever spend that much... but the possibly is there

  11. im still thinking about doing this and i know it would cost alot off monney. i was thinking of transplanting an flat 6 and mayb 6 speed gbox plus drive line etc in 2 my brumby. was thinking of using the EZ30 engine. now some questions ive got are.... would the 6spd fit in to the brumby tranny tunnel or would it be to big and need mods to the tranny tunnel? has any one fitted an EZ30 to an brat/leone etc? an EZ30 should fit in to an brumby shouldnt it? i know the 3 is bit smaller than an 3.3 . and ive seen one brumby fitted with an EG33. mind you i could use an EG33 for motor coz ive got an whole svx as parts car to use. i just wanted to go with ez 30 since it was smaller and lighter. is there any thing else i need to know before i take on an project like this?   12. ouchy. i had my vortex brake disks glowning red hot with flames shooting out lol:grin: called the fire birgade. fire was out by the time they turned up. they still worked well afterwards lol

  16. the guy that had my old rx2 he had an hirbid 1 done that used an legacy turbo air compresser housing and the exhaust was an ea82 housing. it was annoying coz to get at the spark plugs you had unbolt the bloody turbo. thats how much room was between the turbo and the block:rolleyes:
  17. i was wanting2 do the same on my brumby. but xt6 stuff is as rear as hens teeth here
  18. dad could almost get 50mpg in his front wheel drive 5speed 1600cc leone. he wouldnt push it past 80kms an hour. i think he did that dutring the oil criss during the 80s. that was hi way driving too
  19. ive got the oppersit problem. ive noticed my brumby fuel pump says on all the time and doesnt prime then slows down or stop etc like how my other old leones did when you 1st switch the key on. would the fuel pump wear out with it running like that? what can i do to get this to run normal? thanxs:burnout:
