In NZ theres a few. I own a 1973 1400 GSR, 1973 GL1400, 1974 DL. The GL is spare parts car. GSR needs a restoration and my DL is Rd legal runner. Yup I also love the Vortex. I have a 1989 Vortex 6 -

I ran into a problem with my old 1988 Subaru 1600DL a year or so ago. It had ellectronic ignition. The distribrator cap was buggered. I searched every where for a cap and No one could find one. Even tryed Subaru with no luck. In fact I had to convert to points ignition :-\ The cap was like a Ea82T cap but it was sat on the distributer about a 1/4 of a turn out.. ( Its a little hard to explain ) I tryed caps out of every subaru I had wrecked and nothing was the same. It used screws to hold the cap on. I was thinking of replacing the disty on my GSR with ellectronic but wouldnt want to end up with not able to pic up replacement cap etc

Would that colour scheme be a factory one? It looks good And is that a vinel roof?

This is what my exhaust system looks like on my 1400 GSR. It stays as two pipes untill the rear muffler and comes out withthe one pipe. Its the factory exhaust system.

Do you remember that old Japanese 1970s flick with the two 1600s in it. One was chasing the other. One was a coupe, but the other was a sedan and that was 4WD. It showed him put it in 4WD so he could keep up with the other guy. Eventually the guy in the 4WD rammed the other guy and he drove off the side of the road. Maybe the Japanese market got some oddball 4wd sedan?

Thats a nice GFT. I would love to get one

kiwi subbie replied to Datsunrides's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Ahh good colour I dont really know what colour I will eventually paint mine. I dont really want to do a colour that some one else has used on their 1400. Like to be a tad different. Maybe I mite go a brighter yellow or a different red compaired to stock GSR Red. -
