Subaru Brake Tool 9255 90000
kiwi subbie replied to Hitoshi's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Power built has some thing you can use. Its like a Cube with different shaped prongs on it. You attach it to a ratchet and wined the Caliper in. -
Nice FF1. Wished I could get one here. Seeing this thread is making me think I really must make a start on my Gsr. Only problem is I don't have a garage to do a full strip down and rebuild in. When ever I see parts I try to stock pile them for when I start.

1973 GSR Magazine Comparison
kiwi subbie replied to Leeroy's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
I cant quite remember? Didnt most of the early 1400 engines single port, And GSR was dual port? I forgot but it also has sports exhaust aswell, Talking to SUBGSR years ago I think he said the hot cam was only fitted to the 72 and 73 GSRs I looking up my manual at the mo... Heres a quick we blurb on GSR motor With improvements in cylinder head design, the valve clearance, Spark retard characteristics of the distributor and carburetor setting are changed. -

1973 GSR Magazine Comparison
kiwi subbie replied to Leeroy's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
There is quite a bit of diffence between the GSR 1400 motor and a 1600 heck even a 1800 NA EA81. My GSR was totally original. Motor must not had been touch for 20 or years. Carbs leaked a bit. Some times wouldnt run rite. ( probley crap in the tank being stired up ) Fearly worn and a bit rust in the body. I drrove it from the top of the north Island to Chch in the South Island. And campaired to any of my other EA powered cars 1400DL Brumbys Leones Omegas the motor had nothing on them . The GSR was one of the Best cars I have ever driven. Handled Fantasicly, Still fast for its age, Higher reving... Man I miss not driving it. It needs to be restored. -
All the EZ series are different. EZ30D EZ30R and EZ36. EZ30D and R timing covers are different and wont fit on each other. EZ30 parts wont fit on EZ36. I saw that they compaired all 3 motors on the NAISOC 6 cylinder thread.

kiwi subbie replied to maudsland's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Ive never seen a SRX Leone swing back here in NZ. They never sold leone swing back models new here. Where very lucky to get a few 2nd hand Jap imports here. Think I may have seen one 4WD model. -

Theres atleast one Baja in Oz. Remember seeing a pic a few years ago. We didnt get them here either. One place here got a rear cut of a Baja and reatached to a Lancaster. Looks mint and cant tell the difference. -
Ive always wanted a Corvair. Ive only seen one driving round on the road. Think it was a station wagon verson. Saw another two in a car collection. One was a turbo. Thought it was sooo cool
