  1. holesaw a pair of holes somewhere on the passenger side firewal near the floor, and get some rubber grommets to fit, then run your pipes through there and along the driveshaft hump to the radiator. Or with a lift, you can run them under tha car in the transmission/driveshaft tunnel, then make the holes to come in under where the back seat bottom is. -Bill
  2. Are you planning on riding passengers in the back seat? If not, build a bracket that will mount the radiator where the rear seat back would normally be, so its upright and can have all the airflow it needs. Then just use two electric fans, push or pull doesnt matter. -Bill
  3. I see you are in Yakima, if you want to come down to Toppenish some time I can set you up with a 6-lug swap, or almost anything else you might need for your rig -Bill
  4. Yes you will want a D/R trans from an 85-89 GL subaru, the low range will be very nice to have off-road, and what size tire do you want to run with your lift?

  5. Easy swap, just follow GD's write up on ea81 spfi conversion, and I sell a kit that let's you use the stock ea82 power steering pump on an ea81 with spfi or weber carb, it's $60 plus shipping, pm me if you are interested. Swap the ea82 flywheel onto the ea81 motor too and make new timing marks so you can properly time it. -Bill
  6. Looks pretty damn good from the pics, even with stock motion wheels on it. I love the color choice. I think it would look good with a lip spoiler on the decklid, like the rx sedans, and lower it a bit. Does it still have the air suspension? -Bill
  7. How much lift are you lookin for? I can do you up a 2" kit for $100, or an 8" kit for $600, or anything in between. Where are you located?

  8. Direct swap. Just take the wiring from the S/R tranny and plug it into the new D/R tranny, the only things missing will be the low-range indicator. Grab a shifter console from a D/R car, bolt it all in, remove those stupid vacuum solenoids on the driver side strut tower and away you go! -Bill
  9. How on earth did you loose the control arm?! Did you forget to tighten the bolts???? -Bill
  10. You have a broken timing belt on the driver side. Pretty common on the EA82 motors, there is a lot of info on how to fix it if you do some searching. -Bill
  11. Looks like its been comin along good, Im excited to see the finished creation in action -Bill
  12. Im not as desperate for hubs as I am for drums, but extras of both would really help -Bill
  13. I know how most of you all like pics, so here is a couple. Redrilled front hubs/rear drums with new stud pressed in I can also do rear discs as well Cost of this service is now $75 plus $20 shipping with cores returned, $135 if you dont want to send me cores That pays for my time on the mill and the cost of new studs, which arent cheap -Bill
  14. Sweet, we will have to get something set up, maybe by fall I will have some EJ lifts goin -Bill
  15. Thanks, Looks like I did indeed get an XT6 waterpump. Oh wells, to the For Sale section! -Bill
  16. Hey ya'll, I bought a small lot of NOS parts off Ebay, guy said they were EA82 parts. The Oil pump, disty housing, and clutch cable are all EA82, but the water pump isnt the same as the one I took off the engine. I think its am ER27 waterpump, but I dont know for sure as Ive never actually seen an ER27 water pump. Its the same bolt pattern as the EA pump, but the pipe for the heater hose is in a different location as well as the hole for the inlet pipe. Also the ridge it has for the timing belt cover didnt line up with the ridge on the block. I dont have a pic, but does this sound like an ER27 waterpump? -Bill
  17. With a welded diff you will need Hybrid rear axles, EA81 shafts with EA82 DOJ cups, otherwise you will blow axles every time you go wheelin. I will weld up a diff for you if you come out to my place, I will even hook you up with all the EA82 DOJ cups you will need so you can build the hybrid axles -Bill
  18. Personally I like the way it looked with the rump roast in the air, reminded me of my old RX, but less dramatic I always love seeing pics of this car, and the carbon fiber wrap on the hood looks real good with that blue paint and the overall style of the car. I think the hood scoop should be CF too though, but thats just me. Oh and you shoulda replied to my PM a while back, I went to the JY and pulled a 5 speed S/R consol for you a while back, it woulda been a lot less work to mate it with the WRX boot but oh well, looks great! -Bill
  19. Looks real good with that lift on there now, its a real Subaru Now you just need a D/R tranny and a welded rear and you will be fully set up! -Bill
  20. Looks great, perfectly matches the rest of the car and the driver J/K Andy, but it is funny, you gotta admit! -Bill
  21. Just for reference: EA81 control arms are 1.5" shorter than EA82 control arms, from the centerline of the inner pivot to the centerline of the outer ball joint. It's not too hard to make XT6 or EA82 control arms fit an EA81, and for lifted rigs its a good idea to have the wider front wheel track. The EA81 and EA82 radius rods are the same length, and bolt to the lower arm in the same location with relation to the inner pivot. The only thing you have to do it cut a slot in the arm near the pivot point, so you can pull the control arm back until it lines up correctly, then weld it up and plate it at least a little on the bottom for strength. And with a 4" lift, just use straight-cut front lift blocks and your camber should be close to perfect. -Bill
  22. Canyon Rd. is a main highway, it use to be the only way to Ellensburg before I-82 existed. Its a nice scenic drive, lots of curves, pretty fun to drive -Bill
  23. Hmmm... I could put a Supercharged 2.5 in my 85 Yota with this setup..... Or put the 2wd trans from our 81 into a Brat and make it a RWD drift machine road warrior... Im interested pending cost... -Bill
  24. XT6 are different than EA82 and regular XT cuz of the 5 lug parts, you can use the front lower control arms, knuckles, hubs and struts and the rear hubs, brakes and backing plate to convert your EA82 or EA81 to 5-lug, the same bolt pattern as the Legacies and Imprezas, and its all bolt-on. There arent as many off-road style wheels for the 5 lug, but there are a million wheel options in that pattern. For a 6-lug swap I need 4-lug hubs to start with. -Bill
  25. Damn, Ive never knocked myself out working on a car, thats a new one for sure! Luckily you are still here, some cars just love to put up a fight... -Bill
