  1. A couple weeks ago i started feeling like a bumping in the front left wheel. Steering wheel shakes back and forth and whole car starts shaking and has gotten really bad when driving it. Could it possibly be a bad axle? Thanks for any help.
  2. So I found out today my timing belt is broke. Is it going to be just a belt replacement to get it going again or did it cause more damage when it broke while driving it?
  3. So Ive narrowed down my problems and my next step is to replace the computer in my 94 legacy wagon. I live in St. Thomas USVI so getting parts is very difficult. Who can i order one from.
  4. Ok thanks guys. I thought it might b a hub Cus that's happened before I'll check it out this weekend. Appreciate the responses.
  5. I took the coupe out muddling the other day and was on my way out of the mud going up a slight hill had it in 2wd and heard a snap and it was just spinning. So I put it in 4 hi and made it home. I'm in Texas and there's not alotta Subaru mechanics. What do y'all think it might be that I need to fix. Any help is appreciated.
  6. I have a friend who wants to put Alot of stereo upgrades in his 2004 forester. I know you can do the maxims upgrade for older subies but what can he do for his 2004 forester.
  7. I just gotta say i love usmb and have been a member for years and also understand change, but I like the old format way better
  8. My heater has always worked great but fort he last month or so it gets hot after running a bit but then blows cold air unless driving at freeway speeds. Last night my wife drove home from work after it had been snowing for a couple hours and no hot air to defrost the windshield and she was driving about 50 mph the whole way.Without tearing into anything yet what do you guys n gals think could be the problem or what should I try replacing first to keep the heat coming out of the vents at all times. By the way the engine temp is just as normal as always which the gauge reads less or at halfway which makes me think it shouldnt be a thermostat. Any info helps. Thanks Tony.
  9. Anyone in the area who knows of any good spots or wants to go please let me know. I am very anxious to get my car dirty. And of course another Suby to go with would be awesome
  10. So I made it down here to Texas on Thursday. It took us three days and 1860 miles from Vancouver wa. to San Angelo. Not too bad for having the suby on a trailer behind the u haul. It was awesome goin through Utah its just too bad I didnt have time to take it off the trailer in Moab especially since I know the coupes probly never gonna be there again. But it feels good to finally be here in Texas. I sure am gonna miss the northwest but im lovin the sunshine.
  11. I'll get used to the heat I think lol. Yes definitely if theres gonna be a few of us that arent gonna be too far way from each other mabey try to have a central Texas meet or something in the future.
  12. Wow thats crazy lol. I get alot of people asking me up here in the NW what kind of car I have. I know down there nobody will know my lifted 83 coupe is a Subaru. Youve got a good point about starting a scene. And the heat wasnt too bad, of course its pretty hot but its something I can get used to.
  13. I liked it. i think im gonna move there. I just gotta get everything in order before I go. I sure am gonna miss the subaru scene in the northwest though.
  14. Ya I figured not very many muddy trails in TX lol. Hopefully I can at least find a couple places outside of town to at least get offroad, of course without getting in trouble:brow:. Ive heard pretty good things about San Angelo so Im goin down there this friday for a lil over a week to see if its somwhere I would like to live and the kind of work that will benefit my future. Of course if things work out I will miss the northwest after being here for 21 years, but I sure wont complain about all the sunshine. Thanks for the info guys.
  15. Hey Fred I think you meant EJ2.2 for your engine not EA82

  16. Cool man. I just gotta go down and check it out. Until I do no decision are made, just curious to hear what some locals have to say.
  17. I am going down there for a work trial type thing for the next 2 weeks and may have a great opportunity to move there. One of the first things I looked at on craigslist was subies for sale and only 3 came up. So Im wondering if there are any other subaru owners in or near San Angelo with any useful info on this city or anything interesting worth mentioning. I can pretty much guarantee Im gonna be the only one to have a lifted 83 gl coupe and am I gonna have a hard time finding parts if I need them locally. Coming from the northwest this is a totally different place than I am used to.
  18. I didnt see a class for old skool subies. Is there at least enogh of us out there to get an older class going?
  19. Ive been goin back and forth on whether im goin or not but FRED if you are really gonna be goin ive gotta make it. Ill call u soon bro.It sounds like its gonna be an awesome WCSS this year.
  20. Got some pretty cool locking valve stem caps for the superlites compliments of my brother in laws girlfriend who also let me drive her WRX that just got a fresh engine rebuilt by General Disorder. Pretty fun car I had to get it just a lil bit sideways at 225 hp. [/img][/img]
  21. A spare front axle could come in handy. It doesnt take much to break them sometimes.
