  2. I was having the same issues and am on my third cheap reconditioned alt in about 2 months and the volt meter reads ok when no light, heater rear defrost, or anything is on but when I run all three of these at idle im in the low red. It runs and starts fine but if u get a new alt try to get a good one, or a maxima alt which by the way what years and does it just bolt n hook right up? GL with your issue. Sorry I cant help more.
  3. Thanks for the love guys. I would gladly take some of that snow. We always get teased around the portland metro are.
  4. Thanks Mike I just need new covers. The old ones broke apart when I took them off , its been a couple years since Ive used em.

  7. So I left work tonight and as I turned from fruit valley rd to 4th plain I saw a lifted grey or light blue loyale wagon with a rack pulling into the Shell station R U on the board?

  11. Id love to go with u guys. If your gonna have a fix it party im in for that too, just to make sure the coupe is ready. I think earl lives close to my brother Fred in portland so let me konw. I think I got your # Mike at wcss 12 if its cool I might call you soon. Oh yah this is Tony.
  12. OK so the alt I replaced a month ago already went bad. I replaced it again today and both belts snapped off. Took that alt back caus the pully wheel wasnt straight. Put another one in along with the two belts UGGH and the door dinger was goin off but no other power. WTF...so I had some one helping me out and he eventually found a melted wire. anyways its good now until this cheap alternator decides to take a crap on me again. thanks for all the help. Oh and its a remanufactured alternator from costless. I would not advise anyone else to get one they're crap but since its under warranty i'll keep excanging them out till I get money for a good one.
  13. I bought the alternator new and installed it about a month ago and it has a 2 year warranty, and yes when it idles around 700 rpms the voltage meter reads around 10 or less and when I get to 3000 rpms the meter reads almost 18. Its not a bad meter needle because while accelerating the dash lights get way brighter and while idling they are way dimmer.
  14. So I had this problem about a month ago and put in a new alternator. The problem stopped, but I got in my car this morning and my volt gauge is again goin up and down with my RPMs. Does anyone have any ideas of what else it might be???
  15. It runs fine and never has wanted to stall or any hesitation like that. Yes they only come on when the rpms are low but it just started doing this, it still runs fine. And its kinda wierd watching the volt meter move up and down with the rpms. I think Ill try a new alt and see what happens.
  16. Ya thats what I was wonering. Thanks its a prety cheap n easy fix I think Ill get my suby an alternator for Christmas lol.
  17. So this morning just like every morning I started my 83 gl coupe reved it up a few times and let it warm up at about 300 rpms for like 5 minutes. Then when I leave and get down the road a mile or 2 it idles at about 700 just fine. Well when I first started it the brake fluid & stop lamp light came on the dash and faded off as the rpms went up. Also my volt gauge was goin up with higher rpms and down when lower mostly between 8- 18. When I first took off from home the low voltage light came on so it was below 8 but went off after it warmed up. Its never done this before. I was wondering if mabey an alternator but Im not loosing power. The brake fluid & stop lamp lights still kinda fade on when it idles after being warmed up and the volt gauge goes up and down depending on rpms. Any suggestions?
  18. 3" rear /4" inch front - lift and 27 inch tsl swampers oh yah, and superlite 15x6 rims:banana:
  19. thats funny but yes it locks fine. I dont think anyones smokin it up in my car lol.
  20. NO WAY I never use armor all just a wet rag to clean my dash its shiny enough by its self. although my back seat has some pretty bad cracks at the top of the seats.
  21. Man im so jealous. Im down in Vancouver,Wa and we got like a trace of snow. I,ve been soo anxious to get my coupe out there and have some fun,but nothin but alittle bit of patchy ice so far. Dang its so awesome to here everyone's stories of subys outdoin other vehicles. Hopefully we'll get somethin to play around in this winter.
  22. I dont think there is any leaks, the exauhst has been replaced and the muffler to with a nice glass pack. But not to say it could b leaking up front somewhere idk. Not too big of a deal if it continues but ill try some different things for now thanks.
  23. Thanks for all the reply's. The rear window is the worst but ill try some stronger cleaner. My coupe is an 83 so im not worried about ruining any new vehicle window stuff,Ive just never had this silly problem with any of my other subys just thought i'd throw it out there and see if I could get some tips. Oh and im not burning oil or anything but I do smell exaust inside the car when its not moving, mabey thats it idk, which of course all old subs have that distinct smell of exaust and 20 something old subaru u know like an old vw but better cus its a subaru!
  24. OK so i live in the NW and I totally understand how foggy the interior windows get in the winter, but it happened even more last summer than this winter that there would be a cloudy film on inside windows like some one was smokin heavily with the windows up. I clean them regularly but this still is a reoccurring annoying problem. Is there anything to help prevent this foggy buildup or anyone with this same problem have any ideas or suggestions.
