100% Stupid & Dangerous but watch this Buick fly.
That was cool wasn't it??? The old original parts probably helped allot as it didn't rebound hard after the jump like a new fancy strut car might do. It just squatted right back down and went straight. Any sudden rebound n correction by him would of ended up into the trees. But from first hand experience on that body style, the tree's would of stood no chance. Would of been like a big game of dominos.

01 Forest strange interior lighting problem
Buick350X replied to Buick350X's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXCloser inspection: the ones for the back have an extra hunk of plastic for a screw to help hold it in place. As it could get bumped more where it is. But cheaped out using them up front too. Might just end up stealing one from the back to use. [Rear pass door, lest used door of them all by a driver.]

01 Forest strange interior lighting problem
Buick350X replied to Buick350X's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI couldn't find anything in the dark last night, even today in the light I couldn't find anything. Only thing I found was an odd empty hole in the door jam. Check the other door and WTF. The drivers door switch is beyond broke, its gone??? Nothing there at all, just the empty hole in the door jam. Do people steal them things? Someone "nicked" the hub cover on the tires before.

Buick350X replied to svmaine's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAre you sure its blown? Folks often think they blew the head gasket or other gaskets to find out once all that is done it happenes again soon after as you have a clogged PCV the whole time. We had that, dealer said $1000 to cheange the oil leaking head gaskets. Changed the PCV and it went away. WHen it can't vent pressure build and build inside the motor and finds a way out.

exhaust leak, o2 sensor stripped threads
Buick350X replied to greenleg88's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIN my case and I bet the others, when you took the old 02 out when it went bad, the threads came out with it. So there are no threads to get a new one to seal or tighten right.

identifying tranny help and a few ?s
Buick350X replied to oooo's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYou must be careful if your trying to ID a tranny. Looking for the Adama apple isn't enough. And the pants buldge isn't a sure thing or not. The only sure fire way is to crank the nuts. If you do have a tranny it won't like that.

exhaust leak, o2 sensor stripped threads
Buick350X replied to greenleg88's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSame boat here and JBweld does work just fine but the stuff doesn't provide a good ground, which makes it not work right, did for a bit. I was going to buy one of them weld on yourself bungs for when ya make headers [summit catalog], and weld it on after griding knocking the old one off. But as is our Forest run fine even tossing a bank3 02 error all the time. Its the last one in the chain for us. DOn't wanna know what it cost to replace the cat.

Dynamat and other sound heat and vib mats: Compare
Buick350X replied to Buick350X's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWhen doing my door panel, I put back the factory plastic and stuff and I wasn't sure how I would cut n fit around everything easy so there is so much junk. Bingo idea, don’t cover the door, cover the backside of the interior door panel. It’s going to work near the same, but was easy to lay and cut where needed [ allot more flat], I can also access the inside of the door later easy with out mat to remove. Laid it just on the inside of the plastic pins that hold it on. That way the edge sucks down and hides that its there. using the smittymats.com junk

Dynamat and other sound heat and vib mats: Compare
Buick350X replied to Buick350X's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYea, I didn't mean to sound bias earlier but I just can't afford to spend $10 a square ft when I know half of the price is just for the name. I went with SmittyMats.com Works great and the 12ft roll was only 2lbs including the cardboard tube. Though they don't measure well, I had a good 14-15ft on my roll. Shhhhhhh

Dunlop SP60's
Buick350X replied to rweddy's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNever seen a Sp60 I got SP Sport 5000s on my Firebird, lasted foreever and had good grip rain snow or shine. Drive in deep snow with no problems. But can't get them in a 15 anymore. I am running Fuzion HRi now. Nice tires, good grip and tread depth. The pic on the web don't do them any justice. I got only 2 so far but was $141 shipped to my house from Tirerack Then took em down to Walmart to be installed, $21.50 to mount n balance two tires. Gonna order two more Fuzion HRi before winter. I drive my Bird yr round and up to 2ft of snow, around 3ft its just plows. Then I have fun in the Sub.

Buick350X replied to Buick350X's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXChrome duct tape I had went shopping for tape and thought id check out foil tape prices. Man that stuff does cost some loot. But found walmart sells chrome duct tape for $3 a roll. Looks really nice, dunno how they pulled that one off.

Dynamat and other sound heat and vib mats: Compare
Buick350X replied to Buick350X's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDid my roof and was impressed with the changes. Never had a headlinner in it. Though I did use the chrome duct tape instead. Just member foil and hot contacts don't go together. Thought id just push the prongs for the doam light through it. Spark spark fizzle and pop goes the fuse. Also the area right behind the bulb filiment had to be trimmed, it was making the stuff smoke. But only the small area where the bulb filiment was. Thought of this as I guess they found Ebay and are using a cleaver way to get traffic. Sell $1 bills for 80cents shipped Or could be for feedback, I know you need like 15-20 to be able to list more then auctions or something like that. myworld.ebay.com/smittymats
