  1. the turn around? is that on the same strip we camped on at the hpss? no that's right by that trailhead right?? i'll try to get there early enough to snag it.
  2. i was thinking the campground... but i never have got to camp on the fingers of 311... hmmm... i guess it depends on weather and roll call. can't remember exactly the last turn for the fingers, was the last one left or right and down.... if there's too many to fit up there i think the camp would be best cause that way everyone can intermingle, and meet new people. along with morning runs would be easier if everyone is centralized. you make the call eric.
  3. yeah i just got a brand new digi camera too. so i'll have plenty of photos to take, then i'll post them all!!
  4. i've used them before but i was just trying to hail him quick because i didn't have time to look his name up.
  5. oh yeah you could make the 30's fit by sawzalling the fenders and beating the back of the fender in a little. it'll make it cheaper!
  6. just cut and pound with a hammer on your fenders and they'll fit!
  7. if you want to go to AZ the first weekend or second weekend i'll be trying to meet up with this AZ backcountry club. it'd be a long drive for you, but if you can make it it'd be sweet!! hopefully i can make a cali run in november before my car goes under the knife!!! Can't wait the anticipation is killing me!!
  8. I was the one that is interested in buying the majority of your drivetrain. i was wondering how much. and what parts you are selling. i know i'll need both diffs. preferably with gears and at least one lsd both would be great!! and what ever else i might need for the lift and t-case mudrat is putting on my car. where could i get another set of 4.44 gears so i can put it in a spare diff with my lincoln locker. is the R180 gears interchangeable with our carriers? Thanks lumpy, Roo plus i'll see you at evan's creek!
  9. all right here's 2 to check on. price i'm not sure but i believe around 70 to 90 cooper discoverer sst 215/75R15 235/75R15 and the tires i have now are Highliner 7.00X14. i know these are 14's but highliner does make them in different sizes, check around for these it might be hard to find, i got mine at les schwabb for about 70 a piece very agressive but load on the street. and you only need to run 23 to 25 psi on the street do to the fact each tire is 6 ply bias and holds a lot of weight.
  10. I'm coming, , i know that subafly is coming too. hopefully under his own power.. can anyone help him install a d/r tranny this next week?? he's got it but no help to install i hope you can come mike i haven't seen you since hpss. i think that was the last time. same with you rob!!
  11. in about 2 months to 3 months i'll have a set of 5 ssr's on 14" steel rims for sale. they'll only have about 3000 miles on them. i paid 700 for the tires with an awesome warranty plan and 135 for the rims. these tires are so new they aren't even mounted on my car yet. i'll probably be asking around $550 for them rims and all. that's a steel! the reason i'm selling them is cause my car is going up another 8 inches and i need 33" tires. The next ? is what are you using your car for? wheeling or street, cause if you are planning on wheeling i would strongly suggest mud terrains and not all terrains.
  12. all help will be very much appreciated. i just joined on arizona backcountry 4x4 club on the internet. they all want to see my car in action. so i might make a run with them begining of november. To have a guide on these arizona trails. personally i can't wait to start coaming so cal and arizona. i have a guide book for both areas with lots of trails (150) from easy to extreme. so we will be running like mad when i get down there before and after my new lift. But after i get my big lift i think i won't be sanding too much do to being to top heavy!! and the lower gears for crawlin'
  13. i guess we could classify by hollister. but i don't want have to drive up there every time to indock a new member. but i do want to personally meet each member before they are, that's part of the reason for the trail ride entry.
  14. jay i do remember you. now putting a face is harder. i'm the worst with names. but it'll be good to see you up there.
  15. !!UPDATE!! the web page is here. i know this is a very rudimentary web page. but i'll be putting it on it's own server hopefully in the next couple months i'll revamp it and load a lot of pictures too. as soon i pick up the software from brian. West Coast Stompers Web Page tell me what you think. just remember this is a rudimentary beggining.
  16. according to the DNR it's open. but now has seasonal closures nov.1 to march 31 to all motorized vehicles now. Directions: from seattle from tacoma from everett Directions from ravendale. these directions are to wilkeson. from there keep following hwy 165. through carbinado. then you'll be going through a windy paved road and come to high bridge over a river. after this bridge within the next couple of miles the'll be a turn to the right. there will be signs that say Evan's Creek ORV this way follow that. which is still hwy 165 on mowich lake road follow this for awhile. it turns to gravel somewhere along the way. keep on this road. after a ways you'll have to your left the first little road or parking area that has a sign saying something about evan's or orvs. don't turn here. shortly after there is another left turn that has a evans creek sign. turn in here this is the staging area. now don't turn down any of the trails here. there might be a map at the information sign. now follow the logging road. at the first y take a right then the next y take another right onto a road to the camp ground. here's a map of the park. it goes off of hwy 165 mowich lake rd. so you have the correct logging road #'s to get to the camp. Evans Creek Map sorry for such crude directions my other turn by turn mapping software is not with me. so please bear with me.

  18. with subaru axles you don't want much suspension lift. just use the adjustable suspension for suspension lift. and then yes the rest is body lift. but i'm going with the divorced t-case option. and that'll suck my tranny and engine back into original position. now if you were to put solid axles under there then you could suspension lift away! basically what i'm doing is having it lifted high enough that when i suck the tranny and engine back in the original postion against the body. i can fit another rear diff under the tranny. i'll have that mounted where the tranny would be if it was a regular body lift. that way no drive axle angle is changed. plus i can change out the gear ratios to a 4.11 or 4.44 front and rear. then for power distrubition. it'll come out of the rear of the tranny onto a short driveline to a datsun t-case. then from there to the front and rear diffs. wa la 2 low ranges and a final crawl between 50:1 and 65:1. it'll be about a 10 to 12 inch lift. similar to mudrat's beast that he took to the rubicon. you could do it with a 6" lift like lumpycam did. then i'm going to an ea-81 motor and power steering. and 31 to 33 inch tall wrangler MT/R tires.
  19. well i know someone posted that someone makes rear diff ratios for the 510's rear end and also ours. but no front end ratios i know. but i'm not going to need the front end ratios. i just need a couple sets of lower ratios for the rear diffs. all help is appreciated
  20. Brian this is how it can go. one i'm visiting you from NC, and then moving straight to AZ. So you'll pack your stuff the night before. i'll meet you at the high school. we will jet from there. i'll call you in sick at the skill center. then on monday i'll call you in sick. they won't call your mom that way. but you will have the 2 out of 10 days class missed towards going to court. if you are willing i will do that. tell me what you want to do.
  21. stock car no stomper status. noway!! the membership i'll set up is similar to the way the HP has it. you complete a run with me and your in. as for suspension mods.... i'm having someone redo my suspension a few inches taller and 33" wrangler M/TR tires on 15x8 6 lug rims. have someone who is very knowledgeable about fabrication help or build your suspension otherwise it's not worth it. on subaru's i don't like to personally fabricate the suspension. mainly because it's blocks and supports. everything else to the car i can help you fab or do.
  22. i'll be arriving the 10th, and leaving the morning of the 22nd. my dad still hasn't called you about picking that rim up? i'll have to start harping on him harder to get that done! will you be home this week for him to pick it up sometime? sweet i can't wait to go 4x4ing again! and to see that video. make sure you contact me when you find out how the movie will be completed, and get the final version!!
  23. i am a washington boy, i'm not ken, eric or john, i've been a hatch Patrol member for about 2 years! and have wheeled along side them many times. the only reason i'm not there right now and will be in yuma is because i'm in the marine corp now. after i get out i'm going back to washington. not to mention i'm hosting the stomp and romp run up there at evan's creek in 12 days! i picked west coast so that i can include all my friends in washington and every one on this side of the country. the reason i picked stompers is because if i remember right, the little subaru toys ken and eric have are called stompers. so i was keeping it subaru. but if we get a few together and they don't like that name for the club i'm starting. then yes it can be negotiated. with that name i was making sure, i wasn't illudinng to it being only one style of subaru. and open to other makes and models if need be. trust me i knowwhat a stock suby and no fear can do. i've been there. what are you doing to your car storm trooper. i'd tell you what i'm doing to mine. but at the moment i'm keeping it on the DL. till it comes out of the shop. i'be driving down on the 22nd of sept and arriving at yuma on the 24th
  24. well that sucks. when will you be back eric?? i hope i can go visit and maybe see the video!
  25. as the thread in the sticky on the main old gen board states. it is now being held at Evan's Creek. post if you need directions.
