    OZified!!!

What size tires are they? How much rub room you got now?
  2. Mine did the same thing. I ended up pulling the heater housing apart. The core lays flat, so part of it was blocked by debris laying on top of it. My guess is that sence it was blocked that when I turned the fan higher it had to suck the air from somewhere. It probably pulled the cool air past a closed flap in the system. Mine works great now. Also while it was out I back flushed the core.
  3. Not sure if I have your new one. Is it 253-862-####? Send it to me and I will check the one I have.
  4. They are made but not listed. I got one from Carbs Unlimited last night. Of course they gave me the wrong one. Even after I gave the the deminsions I needed. They are closed on weekends. You got any other ideas or ways I can keep my weber from iceing up? You home today?
  5. Anyone know what the weber part number is for the adaptor that is in between the weber carb and the stock subaru air filter housing?
  6. Mine does it with a weber on it. You are right though a weber is a nice upgrade for these "go nowhere in a hurry" cars.
  7. HHHMMMMmmmm, mine sometimes idles like that too. Even when I am going down the highway it will feel like it is dogging, so I press the clutch to see if it is idleing right and it is back down low again. I am blamming it on my electric choke. This weekend it will be a manual choke. I have always hated elect chokes and this is my first vehicle I have ran for so long with one before changing to a manual. I want to see what other opinion you get.
  8. Sure would look better in my driveway. Ya, I will have to come over and take a look at it. Glad ya got it.
  9. Extreme temp changes will brake the seal on hoses from the metals expanding and contracting. Just like a tire will loose small amounts of pressure over a very cold winter. Try to find it, losen the hose clamp and reclamp it for a new seal.
  10. I take it that the Subaru PCV is different. I will pick one up Tuesday.
  11. Yea, I agree. I just wanted to pry just a bit deeper to make sure. Thanks. I will fart around with it tommorrow. I am not to embarrased when it happens, I just don't want to wreck from laughing so hard at the people behind me.
  12. HHHMMMMM. I hear what you folks are saying and agree with the PCV issue. But this is a right hand turn and PCV is on the left side of the engine, so if I do a right turn all the oil should be pulled to the left side of the car towards the PCV. I could totally understand if the PCV was on the right side or I was making a left turn. I will have some extra time Saturday morning to fiddle with it. I just noticed the title of my thread reads "left turn" I ment my other left. Sorry.
  13. My 86 wagon smokes on right hand on ramps, but not left hand turns. For you folks that are familiar with Washington, it is the on ramp off of west bound 18 onto south bound 167. Right when I hit 167 and trying to get some speed it starts spewing THICK smoke out the tail pipe. That is the only turn it does it on. The carbed 1.8 only has 120,000 miles on it and does not hardly use any oil. Anyone know what the problem is?
  14. I was leaning towards a vac leak. When I press the brake the engine runs different at idle. The PCV system is clear but not stock. I plan on pulling all my suspension and drive train out and putting it in another Subaru in January. Then I will check for leaks. Anything else?
  15. My gas milage fluctuates from 24mpg to 29mpg traveling the same trip (280 miles). It is a carbed (weber) 1.8 86 wagon. I don't drive like a mad man, that is impossible with this subaru. I pretty much drive the speed limits. It has a hard enough time topping 75mph unless it is pointed down hill. Any thoughts?
  16. I kinda had a feeling they would cost some $$$ from Subaru. I will do some calling before I venture out into the great unknown caosty world. You know what I am talking about mtnman38
  17. I was kinda wondering if they were stainless. Are the studs stainless also? I wonder if Subaru would still stock them?
  18. Did the 86 EA82 engines have studs in the heads to fasten the exhaust on? If so what size are they.
  19. Do you have the weber with the electric choke behind the carb? Make sure the spare tire is not making contact with the electric choke connection. The tire shorts out the system usually blows the fuse.
  20. I just fixed one of my brand new axles that was doing the same thing. The band around the larger side of the boot was not tight enough, so the auto store I bought them from gave me a band. I tightened that SOB so tight it was a wonder the band didn't break. So far, so good.
  21. What was the stock tire size on an 86 GL Wagon 4x4? Ya Ya ya I know "stupid question", but I am board and thought I would post a question that I am curious about.
