Looks like the problem still exists after trying different shocks and coils. Whats next on the chopping block? If I have time Tuesday, I think I will take it in and have an alignment shop give me some opinions. More input is welcome as I am not real knowledged on the Subaru stuff.

Not saying the shock is good, but it sits even in the back. Shock seems to be OK, any way of checking it for sure? It is the adjustable type. What about the bushing on the control arm where it is connected to the framework? If that was bad would that cant the wheel out? I tried moving it by hand, it was pretty firm. Keep them coming, I am writing them down to look at. Thanks

Ya, I did the wheel bearing check. That is what I was thinking. Wheel is solid. I looked at the manual and found no adjustments. I wonder if something is bent? I know with the I-beam Fords, if the camber is out the I-beams have to be bent with a press.

Is that something I can fix, of do I need to take it to a shop? I would rather fix it myself if possible. Thanks

What would cause excessive tire ware on the inside of the drivers side rear wheel?

What size jets do I need in my Weber that is on my EA82. I have a bad hesitation when I hit the gas. I did increase the primary from a 140 to a 157 ant that helped a bit. I am running bigger exhaust, so that could be some of the cause.

Hay Qman. I am planning on it. Greg

distributor stuck in block

Yes, lots of patients here. I have to keep the car on the road. Gas is way to expensive to put in my 9 MPG 460ci. -

I have to use a 3lb sledge and a bar to get it to move. She is in there good. I have been spraying it with a pentatrator oil every once and a bit. I don"t have much time to spend on it being it is my daily now. -

I got the same stinking problem. The thing is corroded in there. Did you have any luck yet? -
I had to add another return spring on mine and the throttle cable hooked right up using the same mounting spot on the manifold. I had to cut the end off to get it fixed to the carb. Here is a thread w/ pics. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13741&highlight=weber

Thats interesting. I have always ran my blaster (plain style) in a horazontal position. Never ran into a problem. Shouldn't the coils be full of oil and not have any air pockets? I was told if you buy a coil that makes noise when shook that it is not any good (not filled all the way).

My EA82 non-turbo pings on acceleration and while at cruising speeds. I have timed it back to 6 degrees. Added octane boost. Unplugged EGR. If I give it gas while it pings (cruising) it will go away. Its almost like it is getting to much vacuum.

32/36 DFAV Weber to P/S EA82 complete
heep70 replied to heep70's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
No, that wasn't the final product. There is a bunch of lose wires that are laying on top of that. Ha, just kidden. Its all cleaned up now. The only things left are the metal hoses, but I don't care. I will deal with that at a later date. I haven't checked the milage yet. I figure I will check it on the next tank. I should have the wild hair out of my butt by then. I also need to finish tuning the carb. -

I still have a bit of a hesitation at the start I am working on, but once past that she really moves especially on the highway. -

Yes, it is electric. I am not sure what all the letters mean. Somewhere before in this forum they where defined. Try a search. -

Yes, the linkage is on the passenger side. Qman had also thought it was backwards until looking at it a bit closer. -
My EA82 has been weberized. Finally, I found some time to convert my Weber onto my engine. Of course, the job was able to be accomplished faster with the help of Qman. Thanks Qman. I used a 32/36 DFAV series Weber on my EA82 w/ power steering. The adaptor (99004-731) I got from Redline was kinda (real) hookie, but we got it to work. We ended up using the original riser plate in combo with the two-piece adaptor in hopes that it would help hold the seal over the water jacket. So far so good. Everything bolted up great with plenty of clearance. I had no interference issues with the P/S pump and had plenty of room under hood for the K&N filter. To top things off, I got to ride in Qman's Brat. What a rocket. That little front wheel drive truck can leave a nasty Qman has some pics of the conversion. Thanks again Qman

I had the same thing going on. I went into the bank that made the noise and it was obvious which lifter was bad. The lifter had very little resistance when pushed on. I replaced it and rebuilt the oil pump. Works great now.

Its not a passage, the coolant conducts the heat . Emissions thing, you know. It would be nice to keep it functional, being webers are known for icing in certian conditions. Yes, JB Weld is a good friend of mine also.
-
Qman pointed me to the right adaptor. He also mentioned the coolant issue. If it is a big issue I have some 1/8" T-6 aluminum I can make a base plate to seal it off. He has done a few conversions and is familliar with what needs to be done to get it running. Thanks for the reply.

What adapter do I use to mount my weber to my 86 EA82?

Check your timing and timing belt alignment. Vac leaks also.

No fluid lose or leaks found anywhere. Nice thought on the rubber hoses. I will check that next.
