if you are just redoing the u-joints no the axe does not have to come out, u-joints are very easy;)

sorry to stick my nose in your thread but my brat is for sale subaru brat 4x4 it has no rust and runs great no smoke i have put new,carb,rad,tires,bearings,brakes,new rubber boots on all 4 axes, has sun roof roll bar, and skid plate and i have some odd and ends parts too,factory jack,factory battery hold down,factory bag of tools,just a nice little brat 2,700:wave:

well i just change my oil to 20 weight i will try it if not i will go back to 10 40

yeah i just like to know the best weight oil to used in my 78 brat runs great , no burning oil but has close to175,xxx miles , i did change before with 10-40 but what you think of 20 weight or so is this ok?? :wave:

yeah mine click from ca. to mo. and then i change them both and yes if you change out axes i would put new bearings in no matter what, shoot you are there anyhow;)
