  1. The struts interchange. A few of the off-raod guys have lifted their legacy's with outback struts and springs. I think the only real supension differences between the legacy wagon and obw is the strut spring combo, and bigger sway bars on the outback model.
  2. I guess I take for granted the fairly low heat here in the mountains. I've rarely seen failures of these parts out here. Its usually the rust that kills them. I've also never seen first hand an ea81 with a bad head gasket. But I've heard they do exist...
  3. I don't believe there to be any differences in the suspension setup for any 96-99 OB. The only thing that would cause a difference is if one is manual and the other automatic, because the tranny crossmembers are different. But that may be covered in the lift.
  4. You can get a whole parts car for under $500 if you look around enough. That way you'd have the complete wiring you'd need. And the exhaust parts.
  5. For some reason I'm diggin the sedan. The wagon, not so much. And wow, thats a big scoop
  6. All we need is a tank, and enough solid ice to hold it up... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhbBWNcV5dA
  7. I talked to Dalton a few hours ago on the phone, they got everything except the strut blocks taken care of.
  8. Hi, and welcome to the site. I'd like to see some pics of your car when you get the chance. It's always nice to see what other people have!!! Here's a link to a very good writeup that you can download, made by Numbchux of the board. It has nearly everything you could imagine about the swap within. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=73676
  9. I believe they were made form 03-06. They all have the 5mt option availible. And the price would all depend on what you consider to be inexpensive.
  10. Bump to the top... Pictures will be posted tomorrow.
  11. Ben, who told you this. And what wires were they talking about?
  12. Its kind of funny, but I was thinking about you doing this swap in my head, and realized this was going to be a hold up on it. I was about to pm you to tell you what you'd have to do... But I see it has been taken care of... BTW... That is a really pretty wagon.
  13. Something I'm questioning myself on, and I've talked to Dalton about this. But, I'm almost posative that 82's didn't have an asv port on the passenger's side of the motor... Can anyone verify or deny this with certainty?
  14. On my turbo legacy, it would take a good steady rain a few minutes to actually start leaking. Just washing the car, or a sprinkle generally doesn't generate enough water for it to back up and leak.
  15. Generally speaking, the test for struts is to give the car a good hard shove down, and if it takes more than three bounces for it to stop the struts are in need of replacement.
  16. Indeed it is pull headliner time to clean the drains. They are at each corner of the assembly. All of the sunrook equiped subie's I've had have worked exactly as yours, except for the 06 2.5i Legacy.
  17. I read something about this a few weeks ago. It was posted up here, and was billed to be the return of the AE86 Corrola. original thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=78063
  18. And if he was close enough I'd save the poor thing...
  19. I'm prtty sure the carter weber has a different intake manifold. So he'd have to swap that out as well.
  20. You won't have gotten that anyways. They dropped the 5mt turbo wagons either in 06 or 07.
  21. Pink would really mess them up quite nicely....
  22. Indeed. The knock sensors on my mom's 98 Legacy looks absolutely perfect. But throws the code for it, not always. And not imediately if I clear the ecu. But a replacement is in order.
  23. ^^^^ What he said, except its only a true 50/50 in 1st and 2nd gear, then goes to 90/10 in the higher gears. With the duty c soleniod giving more rear distribution when conditions demand.
  24. Those yard prices aren't too far from what some of them charge around here. I picked up two Impreza struts for $45 each a few months back. Would have been more if they took them off the car.
