well we went on the soobie's maiden voyage to tahuya......hehe.....what a ride! .......it went anywhere i pointed it.......pretty impressed......but what do i know?.......we really gave it hell to see what was gonna break and what was good to go......i finally broke the strut rod brackets.. .....looks like an easy fix. .......so the fix is on and i'll be back to give it another rogering...........woooohooooo:eek:
  8. i would sure like to see some pix of the t-case mounting :D
  9. yeah town clowns don't like mine much either........ BFD...... told me it was my lucky day.....lol
  10. ah hell.........drop the headliner....port-a-power the windsheild opening back square.....give a couple pushes on the b pillar....open the hatch ,do a cross measurement and port-a-power to square .......simple,
  11. i personally don't like the rubber mounted radius rod.....seems to wanna occalate when you start digging in....... what if a guy was to make radius rods with good quality heims and moly tubing doing away with the rubber bisquets?
  12. "why is the BFH such a vital soob tool???? im missing something here...." cause when you need one... you will then know why.....
  13. just got done welding my 3.9 up.....i can see this will work well..........gonna give her a good rogering this weekend at tahuya..... :D
  14. good job..........at least ya didn't give up...like most pussies do
  15. we're heading up to tahuya this thurs for the weekend .......hope i don't have to do any underbody maint. on the ro-ad like you .........lol.......this will be the maiden voyage for the subie
  16. i believe i am going to weld my 3.9 this next week....the cops seem to frown upon my subie.. ..hehe ......dumb rump roast town clowns..... i don't think they liked the 8" lift.....so i added a stupid looking light bar and one of those irritating electric triple air horns.......that otta get 'em going.....

will do......we are gonna try to get up there mid oct......so it's good and wet.....taking quads as usual.....i like the 4x4 stuff for riding my quad...so we'll be doing combo rides.....and messin' around mud lake....prolly camp at the drop off area right across the ro-ad from the 4x4 entry......thats the plan now .....
  22. you could always roll tube it if you remove roof, then canvas the top....thus retaining most all the upper unibody strength (that is surely needed)....if i removed the roof i would definitely tube it........
  23. dixracing replied to dixracing's topic in Off Road
no t-case ....all stock stuff, including the y pipe till it gets to the trans then its a stright pipe ...hehe.... i have new tires now ...prolly not the best but they will work ok.......it's actully really stable ....had it cattywhompus going down a loose gravelly hill.....felt good.....the wheel offset gives me bout 4" more track width i just got it going and am not gonna wonder too far from home yet......still tough testing it........ ...taking it to tahuya in oct...... thanks for posting a pic.........
  24. doors are not part of the strutural strength of the unibody......they just fill holes.....unless you become involved in a major accident where the body openings are compromised .........then yes.....running w/o doors should be fine ...unless you get real real rough with it.....
