  1. White Pass WA, the ski area.
  2. Copy that. Does it matter where the ports for the surge tank supply and gas tank return are located on the surge tank? Also, I've heard talk of putting inline filters somewhere the system when adding the surge tank. Necessary? T
  3. Ok, thanks for the confirmation. I'm replacing my delivery and return lines with FI grade hose. Do I need to upgrade the evap line too? One other question. Do I need to leave the carb fuel pump in to feed my surge tank or can I just put the surge tank between my FI pump and gas tank? T
  4. I think I've got the right ones then. I fixed those photos in my previous post. The line that I think is the return has red/orange rubber grommet in the end of it. Thanks again. T
  5. So from what you're saying, the return line is smaller than the evap line. I took a couple pics with my phone...not the greatest quality. Return Line? Return line on left, evap on right?
  6. Thanks a ton GD. I haven't had to look yet but I should be getting back to it soon. T
  7. Pics would be awesome. I'll have to look for that line by the frame rail. Thanks.
  8. I can't find the engine compartment portion of the fuel evap line on my 84 gl wagon. I'm trying to button up the fuel system on my ej swap and this has got me stumped. I can only find the delivery and return lines coming out of the firewall. Feeling kind of dumb but I've looked all over.
  9. I have an 84 Ea81 wagon. The ej22 is in but I'm having problems with the exhaust. The EA did not have power steering so I swapped in a PS rack from an 83 EA81 2wd wagon. The PS hard lines that cross the front of the xmember are completely in the way of the y-pipe. Anyone ever dealt with this?
  10. yea, as far as I know, most EA81s do have it. but I don't have any diagrams for those. Nice. Thanks for the tip. I wasn't really wanting to add installing a speed sensor to my project. The list is long enough and I'm running out of time.
  11. What about an ea81? Does the VSS wire hook up to the dash cluster on those as well?
  12. Ya, I have one but even it won't fit between the engine and radiator. I'm trying to avoid removing the hood latch so I was thinking about retrofitting an ea82 single row radiator to fit.
  13. Thank you. That's what I was trying to find out. Guess I'll have to find skinnier fans, use an ea82 single row or ditch the hood latch.
  14. Thanks. Now I just need to find a used one....new is not in my budget right now. Am I right in assuming that you are implying that they did make a single row radiator for the ea81?
  15. Is it an ea81 radiator? What year/make is it out of? I'm keeping the AC which is why I'm looking for a single row. My skinny fan should fit fine with a single row.
  16. Did they make a single row ea81 radiator? If so, will it provide enough cooling for an ej22 swap and does anybody have one? I can't even get my ea81 skinny fan in between my radiator and engine. I really don't want to have to remove the hood latch and put the fans in front of the condenser if I can avoid it. Maybe use an ea82 single row?
  17. Please post if there's any good front seats in any of those Xt's. I'm in the market but am on the other side of the mountains so I don't make it that way often.
  18. Thought I resurrect this instead of starting a new thread. Has anyone ever found a way to put a newer split wagon backseat into an ea81 wagon?
  19. Sounds like it'd be easiest to just use the EJ CC. I'll just pull the CC computer and keep all the wires on the harness for it. I figure I can just splice the EJ wires into the stock EA81 controls on the steering column.
  20. Hey Bill, it's Tyler...I came down with Justin the other day. Will that factory installed system you're talking about work with an ej22?
  21. Anyone found seats that will bolt right in to an ea81? I've heard that maybe XT6 seats. If I have to make rail adapters that's ok.....what seats will fit ok as far as total height?
  22. I figured I'd have to do some custom hose work for sure. Capn_r: I'm at White Pass Ski Area in WA. I'm thinking that the ea81 and 82 should be pretty similar ac swaps other than the engine compartment shape/size factor. Could you give me a condensed list of what parts you used from each car? Chux: On the ea81....from what you said and from your pdf, I'm gathering that the best route for condenser mounting is gonna be to do away with my hood latch and open that space up for the condenser/fans?
  23. I'm putting an ej22 in an '84 GL wagon and I'd like to keep the AC. I've read through the pdf that Numbchux made but was wondering if anyone has done this recently and has any advice/ideas about any aspects of the operation. Thanks. -T4
  24. Ya, I'm wondering the same thing. That link takes you to ebaumsworld.com. There's no pdf that I can see.
