  5. sorry to hear it man these car are worth so little to other people and sooo much to us. i live in seattle, and will keep my eyes peeled. best of luck to you. may the subaru gods smile upon you.
  6. i had a 81 Gpz 550 for about 5 years till i got my zrx. loved that bike. mine was somewhat of a beater bike. but it seemed to put up with alot. got in a few minorish wrecks but used parts for those bikes are pretty easy to come buy. congrats! have fun, and be safe
  7. ahhhh, very good to know. thank you, and the rest for the replies. i can always count on this community
  8. roger that. i'll take a hammer to it this monday and see where i get.
  9. '84 GL 4WD I'll be replacing both front axles this summer and was thinking about driving around in RWD for a couple days just to see whats its like. after doing some quality search time here i still have a couple questions. 1. can i really just run in 4wd with only 1 of the front axle removed (stub still in hub)? seems like it would be better for the transmission if both axles were disconnected 2. how the heck to i get the inner cv joint apart?? can you really just pop out the balls of the bearing with a screw driver (read that here somewhere)? i was fiddling with one today, seems pretty stout.
  10. thank you, i will definitely keep that in mind if im heading that way. and airport welding, sweet guys, im pretty excited to get my wagon back to a reliable vehicle. i had almost decided to sell it and buy a jeep, but now that i've started spiffin it up my love is renewed.
  11. roger that. sounds like a good plan. still will need someone or someplace to have that done. any exhaust shops people recommend? or i would be willing to pay some one cash and food and beer to help me out. also i like your plan for the cat. i never thought about that. its really too bad the cat is part of the y-pipe which means you can never find one at pull-a-part
  12. I want to redo some of my exhaust this summer on my 84 4wd wagon, new high flow muffler and possible getting rid of the cats. Been looking for shops, but then i though it would be cool if i could give someone here money to do it. I have moderate automotive skill so i could definitely help. however i now live an in apartment :-\ and don't know how to weld so work would have to be done somewhere else. so.. . anyone in the seattle area interested in some extra cash? or know of a good place to get exhaust work done (that would be cool with removing cats)? --chris
