I've been under the impression that on the 14" pug steelies you can use regular lugs. . but i could be wrong anyone else?

best place to buy exhaust for an ea-81?
chrisgpz replied to RallyAlex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
usually i would agree with you on the cherry bomb RallyAlex, but on my old hatch i had no cat and no muffler, just ~2 foot section of a glasspack midway thru the exhaust. and it wasn't loud at all, just nice. but obviously do whatever you want, just make sure you put a high flow muffler on there (if you are doing a muffler) the stock ones are very restrictive from what i've heard. -
new brake pads wont fit.

yes, you have to turn them to get them to go in. use pliers or whatever, i ended up buying one of these from the local auto parts store. (tool for the job) https://www.alltools.com.au/shop/images/sz/2447.jpg it was cheap. -
nice work!, The first time can be a PITA but after that its total cake. I think the second time I did mine it took me about an hour fifteen to do both axles including clean up.

+1 bratsrus1 ya, you could be getting some pre-ignition or detonation due to higher compression. -

2003 Kaw ZRX1200, my daily driver for most of the year. cant get enough of it -
yep, it was for a CD player.
-
I got mine from stereo warehouse in seattle, but it was about 2 years ago. http://superstereowarehouse.com/ but like GD said there are some really nice options other than cd player stereos. personally one that has usb sd card and aux input would be more usefull than a cd player.
-
wow, that looks like alot of fun. cant make it this year but was just talkin to my brother about going sometime. looks like i would be able to go even my slow 84gl wagon and no experience huh?
-
i picked mine up from a local car stereo place, big stupid thing. but it works. others have made their own outta of wood. basically just a spacer. good luck.

lol, but now that this has been dredged up. . WHERE R THE PICS!

Problems with radiator hose.
chrisgpz replied to Leeds's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I would change both the thermostat and the lower rad hose. also as everyone else here says make sure to get you new thermostat from the dealer as they are significantly better made. my last one that i got from schmucks just came apart in the housing after a few years :-\ -
it says this * when you leave your car during warm up, be sure to depress the accelerator pedal slightly to prevent the exhaust from overheating. If this is neglected the engine speed increase may cause overheating. * Do not turn off the engine while the car is moving.
