Then today , I drove a 2003 E2500 Ford van 2wdn thru the West hills of downtown portland w/no problems and it was just as bad on the surface roads as yesterday. Idiots.

Amazing home video of icy collisions in Portland
tuner-automotive replied to sam888's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI live in salem oregon , which is 30 miles s of portland. I know portland well. That hill is VERY STEEP! All the cars are going downhill . Yes they are all SUV's and AWD. Problem here is most of these people in portland ... 1: dont know how to drive in snow (amazing , its the NW:-\ ) 2: Have bad tires or low pro tires with street tread(idiots render there SUV usless) 3: Idiots. But none the less , that is a very steep ,San Fransico type street. The 1st guy gets propelled down another street that is also downhill and I also believe he was trying to flee the scene.

Forester wheels on a 92 Legacy?
The tires are on them. I dont know what size the tires are . I just know that the wheels are 16" , and came off of a forester. If its ant consolation , the tires are studdless snow tires.

Cooling fans always on amongst other weirdness

Cooling fans always on amongst other weirdness
my 92 2.2l Legacy all of the sudden has decided to have its dual elec. fans run ALL the time. Whats up with that? Also my speedo stopped working aswell as my odometer. These are cable actuated , correct? Possible time for new cable?

Multiple CEL's! Oh Boy
No. Purchased the car recently from a 1 owner. Has 229k miles. Well cared for , as far as oil chnages and what not , but thats it. I was kinda leaning towards the ECTS.

Multiple CEL's! Oh Boy
I did have the code for the cam sensor. I unplugged the unit and cleaned the dirt and grim off of it. Seemed to help alittle. I dont get that code anymore , but it wont start without me holding the gas pedal alittle upon initial cold start. Starts fine when at op temp.
-
Multiple CEL's! Oh Boy
I just cleared the codes yesterday and nothing has come back. I just cleaned the IAC with alittle Deep Creep to the IAC while it was running . Idle seems alittle smoother. Still havent been able to get it to start easily when cold. Starts fine when at normal op. temp.
-
Is there a idle switch on my car?
Did the trick with the Deep Creep. Much better idle when warm , but still a really bad cold start. I have to try and start it like 2-3 times before itll finally hold a idle and then it usually sits at like 200rpm and slowly climbs to 800rpm before finally holding a consistant idle. Starts and idles just fine when its at operating temp. I reset the ECU so well see if we get any CEL's.

Is there a idle switch on my car?
tHATS A MUCH BETTER WAY TO DO IT.
-
Is there a idle switch on my car?
What is the procedure then? What should I clean it with? Throat = the big port on the IAC.
-
Is there a idle switch on my car?
Carb cleaner , down the throat . Shake or NO shake ?
-
Is there a idle switch on my car?
I have cleaned a few iac BEFORE . about 2 out of 5 that I have cleaned get screwed up after cleaning.
-
Is there a idle switch on my car?
Not having a problem like that. I have a CEL that calls for the idle control being wrong. I wasnt sure if there was a idle switch or if was solely controled by the IAC?
-
Is there a idle switch on my car?
On my 92 Leg 2.2L EJ22 motor. Does it have a idle switch? Or is the idle switch the Idle Air Control Valve (IAC)?
-
Multiple CEL's! Oh Boy
Well car has 229k miles on it and I knew it was gonna have problems since I bought it for $500 , but no biggie. Anyways......... I did the Tbelt and pullies the other day and after I did the job I have troubles starting it when cold. Got a CEL and it was #13 Cam Angle Sensor. Then a wekk later , today, I throttle it to pass a semi and then the CEL comes on. I check the codes and now I get . 13 - Camshaft Position sensor 35 - Purge Control Selenoid 42 - Idle Switch. How much fun am I having ?
